🚀 Galaxy Racer 3D
Glowing tracks, deep space and no walls: pilot your hover ship past the planets and try not to fall off!
How to play
- Pick a ship and a track, then press Launch.
- When the lights go green, hold W or ↑ to thrust and steer with A and D or ← and →. Press S or ↓ to brake.
- Stay on the glowing track! There are no walls, and if you go over the edge you fall and lose time.
- Fly through the blue energy orbs to fill your TURBO bar, and over yellow chevron pads for a free boost.
- Hold Shift or E (TURBO) to burn your turbo. Save it for the straights.
- Hold Space (SLIDE) through a tight corner, then let go for a small burst of speed.
- Win for 3 stars, reach the podium for 2 or finish for 1. Press R if you need to get back on the track.
A space racing game with no walls
Galaxy Racer 3D takes racing off the ground altogether. Six glowing tracks float in deep space, twisting and climbing past moons, ringed planets and a black hole, and your hover ship rides just above them. There is one big difference from a normal race: nothing is there to stop you. The tracks have no barriers and no grass, only a thin bright line at the edge and a very long way down.
It is the kind of arcade racer that is easy to pick up and hard to put down. You race five rival pilots over three laps. You can play in full 3D on a computer, tablet or phone, with nothing to download and no account.
How to fly a hover ship
A hover ship does not grip like a car. It floats, so when you turn it keeps drifting the way it was going for a moment before it follows your nose. At first you will find yourself sliding towards the edge on every corner. The trick is to start each turn a little earlier than feels natural, and to brake before the corner instead of in it.
The tracks help out, too. The corners are banked like a velodrome, tilting inwards as they turn. The hills and long drops change your rhythm: you can crest a rise and float through the air for a moment, so keep the nose straight until you land.
Turbo, orbs and boost pads
Lines of glowing blue energy orbs run down the track. Each one you touch adds to your TURBO bar, and they come back after a few seconds, so you can pick them up again next lap. Hold Shift or E to burn turbo for a big burst of speed. Yellow chevron boost pads on the road do the same thing for free.
Be careful where you use it. Turbo on a long straight can gain you several places, but turbo into a corner on a narrow track will send you off the side. The best pilots save a full bar for the last lap.
The slide
Hold Space and your ship lets go, swinging its tail out so that you can turn much tighter than usual. Hold the slide through a corner for long enough and you get a small burst of speed when you let go. It is a quick way through hairpins, and it also fills your turbo bar a little. It is also the quickest way to fall off, if you start the slide too late.
What happens if you fall off?
If you go over the edge your ship tips and drops into the dark, and a second later it is back in the middle of the track with no speed. You do not lose the race, but you do lose the seconds it takes to get back up to speed. Your rivals can fall off as well, so a bad corner is never the end of the world.
Six tracks across the galaxy
Moonbase Ring is wide and gentle, with the grey Moon hanging beside you, and it is the place to learn. Saturn Run climbs high up past a huge ringed planet. Asteroid Belt is lined with slowly turning rocks that make the narrow road feel even tighter. Nebula Drop starts high up and dives through purple clouds in a long, stomach-turning descent. Comet Twist is narrow, twisty and fast. Finally, the Black Hole Final is the longest and narrowest of them all, racing around the glowing rim of a black hole. All six are open from the start.
Stars and ships
Win a race for three stars, finish on the podium for two, or simply finish for one. Your best result on each track counts, for eighteen stars in all. You start with the Star Dart. Four stars unlock the Comet, nine the Pulsar and fourteen the Quasar X, each faster and grippier than the last. If a race feels too hard, go back and earn stars on an earlier track for a better ship. Your progress is saved in your browser on this device.
Tips for winning
Look ahead, not at your own ship. Press C to try the far camera, which shows more of the track and gives you more warning of a corner. Keep to the inside of the corners, because that leaves you room to drift out towards the edge without falling off.
Lift off the thrust before you start braking hard, and do not be afraid to slow down. A little caution in one corner costs you a fraction of a second, and falling off costs you far more. Collect every orb you can reach without leaving your line, because a full turbo bar on the last straight wins a lot of races.
Can I play this at school?
Galaxy Racer 3D runs in any modern browser with no download, which is why people look for it as an unblocked racing game. Whether it opens on a school or work network depends on that network's filter, so we cannot promise it will always be unblocked.

Frequently asked questions
What happens if I fall off the track?
Your ship drops for about a second and is then put back on the track with no speed. You stay in the race, but you lose some time.
How do I fill the turbo bar?
Fly through the blue energy orbs on the track. Sliding through corners also adds a little. Hold Shift or E to use it.
Why does my ship keep sliding?
Hover ships float rather than grip. Start each turn earlier and brake before the corner rather than in it. Faster ships in the garage also grip better.
Is there a two player mode?
No. Galaxy Racer 3D is for one player racing against five computer pilots.
How do I unlock new ships?
Earn stars: 3 for a win, 2 for the podium and 1 for finishing. Ships unlock at 4, 9 and 14 stars.
Is this game unblocked?
It runs in your browser with no download, but whether it opens at school or work depends on that network's filter, so we cannot promise it. If anonarcade.com opens, the game will work.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. It runs in 3D with on-screen steering, thrust, brake, slide and turbo buttons. It is free, with no sign-up.
