A 2048-style merge puzzle with a daily twist
Critter Merge Lab takes the classic slide-and-merge puzzle format (the same mechanic made famous by 2048) and reworks it around a cast of cute critters climbing an evolution ladder instead of numbered tiles doubling in value. Slide the whole board in one direction and every critter slides as far as it can before hitting the wall or another critter. Two critters of the same stage that collide merge into the next stage up, and the goal is to keep merging your way toward today's target critter without running out of space to move.
What makes it different from a standard 2048 clone is the daily challenge layer: a new target critter is set every day, and reaching it builds a streak that's saved locally in your browser. Miss a day and the streak resets, but you can always start a fresh board and go for the current target; there's no penalty beyond the streak itself, and no limit on how many boards you can play in a day.
