Ski racing and ski jumping games

The Winter Olympics are full of amazing ski sports, and you can try many of them here. Alpine Ski Racing 3D has all four alpine disciplines, slalom, giant slalom, super-G and downhill, on one big 3D mountain, with an eight-race World Cup season: ski between the poles of every gate, tuck on the straights and beat the rival times for gold. Ski Jumping 3D recreates a whole ski jump, from the in-run tracks and the take-off to a V-style flight in the crosswind and a telemark landing in front of five judges, on the Normal, Large and Flying Hills. If you prefer one button, Ski Jump Challenge lets you tap, balance and land on hills from a K40 kids hill to a K200 flying hill. Moguls Run 3D is a rhythm game on bumps: absorb every mogul on the beat and throw a Cork 720 off the kickers. And Ski Mountaineering 3D lets you race skimo, the newest Olympic sport: climb on skins, hike a bootpack, change your gear in a flash and race back down.

Downhill runner and sled games

Want pure speed? Snow Rider Sled 3D sends a sled down an endless snowy forest that gets faster and faster: dodge the trees, fly off the ramps and grab the presents. Ski Rush 3D does the same on skis, with slalom flags, coins, 15 levels and a ski shop full of upgrades. Snowboard Rush adds tricks and grinds to the downhill rush. In Avalanche Escape 3D a wall of snow is right behind you, and a rear-view mirror shows how close it is. And Yeti Escape is a top-down ski game in the spirit of the old SkiFree, with ramps, tricks, slalom courses and a yeti who really wants to catch you.

Freestyle and snowboard games

Freestyle is where skiing and snowboarding get creative. Snowboard Freestyle Park 3D is a full terrain park with kickers, rails and boxes, timed park jams and a Big Air contest. Freestyle Ski Slopestyle 3D puts you on twin-tip skis on a slopestyle course, where judges reward big, varied tricks. Halfpipe Hero 3D is a superpipe game with real physics: pump down the walls for speed and pop off the lip to fly high, on a snowboard or skis. Ski resort games

Ski Resort Mountain 3D is an open-world ski game: a whole resort with three chairlifts, seven runs from green to black, timed medal challenges, golden snowflakes hidden all over the mountain and a trail map. Ski Resort Tycoon lets you build your own: open lifts, clear and groom runs, build a village with a rental shop, ski school, café and hotel, keep your guests happy through powder days and warm spells, then ski the runs you built.

Learning games and games for little kids

Ski School 3D teaches the real first steps of skiing with Coach Pip: the pizza stop, pizza turns, french fries, the hockey stop and how to ride a chairlift. Ski Math Slalom turns math practice into a ski race: ski through the gate with the right answer, from adding to 10 to division, at a speed that suits your child. For the youngest players, Sledding Hill is a gentle one-button sled game with no way to lose.

Winter fun

Not every snow game needs skis. Snowball Fight Arena is a friendly snowball battle with snow forts, power-ups and a Snow King to beat. Penguin Ice Slide is a one-button game about a little penguin who dives down icy hills and flies off the tops before the sun sets. And Head Hockey Battle is a 1v1 ice hockey game with big-headed winter mascots, against the computer or a friend on the same keyboard.

Tips for ski games

Look ahead, not at your skier: the next gate, tree or kicker is what matters. Start turns early and make them round; skidding sideways loses speed. Tuck only when the way ahead is clear, because a tucked skier turns slowly. In the air, stop spinning a moment before you land so you come down straight. And when a game gets hard, slow down a little: in skiing, control beats speed.

Why kids love ski games

Ski games are full of speed and snow, but they also teach. Children learn to plan a line, judge timing for jumps and tricks, and keep their cool under pressure. The sport games show how real events are scored, the resort games teach planning and money, and the learning games practise skiing words and math facts. Every game works with a keyboard or a touchscreen and saves progress only in your own browser.
