A platformer with no lives, no game over, ever
Hop Haven keeps the core feel of a classic jump-and-run platformer (run, jump, dodge spikes, cross gaps) but strips out the part that makes the genre stressful for a lot of kids: the lives system. There's no life counter anywhere in this game, and no game-over screen exists. Touch a spike or miss a jump and you're back at the start of the level in an instant, ready to try again, with only a purely informational try counter tracking how many attempts it took.
Each level also has a light puzzle layer on top of the platforming: a locked door won't open until you've collected every gem scattered around the level, so part of the challenge is exploring the whole layout, not just racing to the exit. Six hand-built levels escalate from a simple flat run with one gap to a vertical climb with precisely placed spikes, all designed to be genuinely learnable through repetition rather than luck.
