✈ī¸ Plane Skimmer

Hold to climb, release to glide. Thread the gaps and grab stars along the way.

A free endless flying game, no download or account needed

Plane Skimmer is an original endless-flying arcade game: your little plane moves forward on its own, and the only input is climbing. Hold the Climb button (or Space, the up arrow, or W on a keyboard) to fly upward, then release to glide back down under gravity, a smooth, analog kind of control rather than a single flap or jump. Cloud banks scroll toward you from the right, each with one gap to fly through, and a glowing star waiting in the middle of most gaps for players precise enough to grab it.

Unlike a lot of games in this genre, hitting a cloud doesn't end the run outright. It costs one of 3 hearts, and if you happen to scrape along the same cloud bank for a few frames while recovering, that only ever costs one heart total, not one per moment of contact. The sky itself, top and bottom of the screen included, is never a hazard on purpose: the challenge lives entirely in the cloud banks, which is easier to reason about for a younger player than a hidden ceiling or floor. Gaps gradually narrow and the scroll speed gradually increases over your first minute of flying, then levels off, so a long run genuinely earns its difficulty rather than spiking unfairly.

Like every game on AnonArcade, it's free with no download and no account, and works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard. Your best distance is tracked locally on this device. This was the first plane-themed game on the site; Flight Tower and Sky Rally have joined it since. Browse the full lineup on the Plane Games page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I play Plane Skimmer?

Hold the Climb button (or Space/Up/W) to fly up, release to glide back down. Steer through the gap in each cloud bank and grab stars along the way.

What happens if I hit a cloud?

It costs one of your 3 hearts, not the run. Scraping along the same cloud bank only ever costs one heart, not one per moment of contact. Losing all 3 hearts ends the run.

Can I fly to the very top or bottom of the screen?

Yes, the sky itself is never a hazard, only the cloud banks are. You can fly right up to the edge of the screen safely.

Does the game get harder the longer I fly?

Yes. The gaps between cloud banks gradually narrow and the scroll speed gradually increases over your first minute of flying, then levels off.
