โ๏ธ Stunt Plane Academy
Loops, rolls and airshows: learn real aerobatics.
How to play
- Pick a plane and a lesson or event, then click Start Engine. You start high in the air with Flight Assist off, so the plane can go upside down.
- โ โ pitch the nose, โ โ roll, Q / E are the rudder, and R / F set the throttle.
- Each lesson shows a tip on the screen. Fly the manoeuvre and the academy recognises it and grades it from one to three stars.
- Keep your speed up for loops and pull-ups, and start high for anything that goes downhill, like the split-S.
- X turns the smoke trail on and off. Smoke adds 20% to your airshow score.
- C switches camera: chase, cockpit, and the crowd camera on the harbor shore.
Learn aerobatics in a free 3D stunt plane game
Stunt Plane Academy is a flight school for aerobatics. There is nothing to download: the game loads in a browser tab and puts you high above the sparkling sea of the Skyhaven Islands in a red and white stunt plane, engine roaring and Flight Assist switched off. Your instructor has one job for you at a time, and the academy watches every move you make.
The six lessons follow the order real aerobatic pilots learn them. The aileron roll spins the plane once around its nose. The loop pulls it up and over in a full vertical circle. Inverted flight means holding it steady upside down, and the knife edge means flying with the wings pointing straight up and down. The Immelmann turn, named after a First World War pilot, is a half loop followed by a half roll that turns you around while climbing. The split-S is its mirror image: a half roll, then a half loop downwards. Each lesson has a simple tip on screen, and the academy recognises the manoeuvre automatically and grades it from wobbly to perfect.
Smoke trails, an airshow and an air race
Once you know the moves, show them off. In the Airshow you have 90 seconds in front of the crowd on the harbor shore. Every new manoeuvre scores 100 points, repeats score 40, cleaner flying scores more, and switching the smoke on adds 20 percent, so the best shows mix everything and paint the sky with smoke. The crowd camera lets you watch your own display from the grandstand. The Air Race is pure speed and precision: fourteen inflatable pylon gates stand in the sea, and you have to thread between each pair lower than their tops. Fly too high or miss a gate and three seconds are added to your time.
Stars from lessons and events unlock two more aircraft. The Sky Viper rolls faster and has a little more power, and the Thunder Jet is a fast aerobatic jet that needs big, smooth manoeuvres. Every plane leaves its own coloured smoke trail.
What kids learn from flying aerobatics
Aerobatics are a brilliant way to understand how a plane moves in three dimensions. Pitch, roll and yaw stop being words and become things you feel. You learn why speed matters (the plane slows as it climbs and stalls if you ask too much), how height turns into speed in a dive, and why pilots plan manoeuvres in advance. The game rewards smooth, planned flying rather than button mashing, and crashing into the sea just puts you back in the sky to try again.
Stunt Plane Academy is free, needs no account, and saves stars and best scores only in your own browser. It works with a keyboard or with the on-screen stick and throttle on phones and tablets. See the Parents & Safety page for privacy details. For gentler flying try Sky Pilot 3D, test your landings in Perfect Landing Pro, or browse the Flight Simulator Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
Is Stunt Plane Academy free?
Yes. It is a free aerobatic plane game that runs in a web browser with no download, account, or plugin.
How do I do a loop?
Get some speed (dive slightly with full power), then hold the up arrow and keep the wings level. Keep pulling over the top until you are flying level again. Starting fast makes the loop much easier.
How do I fly upside down?
Roll with the left or right arrow until the plane is inverted, then let go. When you are upside down, push the nose down a little (down arrow) to stop the plane from sinking.
What is an Immelmann turn?
It is a half loop upwards followed by a half roll at the top, so you end up flying in the opposite direction and higher. The split-S is the opposite: a half roll to inverted, then a half loop downwards.
Why can't I do stunts with Flight Assist on?
Flight Assist levels the wings and limits how far the nose can point up or down, which makes normal flying easy but stops aerobatics. The academy starts with it switched off.
Does it work on phones and Chromebooks?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser with 3D graphics (WebGL), and touchscreens get an on-screen stick, throttle slider and smoke button.
