🍦 Ice Cream Truck

Ring the jingle, stop the van and make every kid's ice cream just right. Earn coins and unlock new flavours!

Ding-a-ling! The ice cream truck is here

Few sounds make children run faster than the jingle of an ice cream truck. In this game, you are the driver. Drive your bright van down a sunny street, press the jingle button near the houses and watch the kids come running out of their front doors with a wave. Stop the van next to them, open the serving hatch and make exactly the ice cream each child asks for.

It is a gentle game made for younger players: the van only needs one button to drive and stops as soon as you let go, the orders are shown as pictures rather than words, and nobody ever gets cross. If a child waits too long, they simply walk back home, and there is always another house further down the street.

How to play

Hold the green Drive button, or the right arrow key, to drive along the street. When you get near a house with a waving hand in the window, press the pink Jingle button or the Space bar. The music plays and the children inside come out to the kerb, each with a speech bubble showing their order. Let go of Drive next to a child to stop the van, and the serving buttons appear.

Making an ice cream takes three easy steps. First tap Cone or Cup. Then tap the flavours, bottom scoop first, in the same order as the picture. Last, add the topping if the order has one. The big preview above the van shows the ice cream you are making, so you can compare it with the bubble before you press Serve. Made a mistake? Press Start again and build it once more.

Coins, tips and the shop

Every ice cream you serve earns coins: more scoops, toppings and special flavours are worth more, and a child who did not have to wait long gives a tip. At the end of the street is a park, where the day ends. You get a bonus for serving most of the children on the street, and then the shop opens.

In the shop you can buy new flavours for the van (mint, blueberry, mango, bubblegum and cookies with chocolate chips), toppings (rainbow sprinkles, cherries and chocolate sauce) and new paint colours for the van. New flavours and toppings start appearing in the children's orders straight away, which makes orders more colourful and more valuable.

Your van can look the way you like, too. Five paint schemes, from candy pink to sky blue and sunny yellow, can be bought once and swapped at any time, and the giant cone on the roof always comes along for the ride. Everything you buy is kept for the next time you play, so your van grows a little more special every day.

Every day a little busier

Each new day the street gets longer with more houses, more children come out at once, and the orders grow from a single scoop to two and three-scoop towers with toppings. It is a slow, friendly build-up that keeps the game fresh while staying easy enough for young children, and the shop gives older players something to save up for.

Good for learning

Making ice creams to order is great practice for matching, sequencing and paying attention to detail: which flavour goes at the bottom, is it a cone or a cup, does it have a cherry on top? It also builds early counting with the scoops and coins, and a little patience and planning: should you stop for the child by this house or drive on to the next one? Reading is not needed, because every order is a picture.

Tips for ice cream drivers

Ring the jingle just before you reach a group of houses, not right in front of one, so the children have time to walk out to the kerb while you arrive. Serve the children in order as you drive along, and do not leave a child waiting while you drive off: they get a little bored and walk home. Build the scoops from the bottom up, exactly like the picture, and use the preview above the van to check before serving.

Saving up? Toppings appear in many orders and earn extra coins every time, so they pay for themselves quickly. Flavours like mango and cookies are worth a little more than the classics.

Real ice cream trucks

Ice cream trucks and vans have been a summer favourite for around a hundred years. Inside, they have freezers to keep the ice cream cold and a serving hatch on the side, and many play a tune through a loudspeaker on the roof so that everyone on the street knows they have arrived. In this game you get to be the driver, the musician and the ice cream maker all at once.

Controls

On a computer, hold the right arrow or D to drive and press Space to play the jingle; all the ice cream buttons work with the mouse, and Tab and Enter work too. On phones and tablets, everything is a big button under the game: Drive (hold), Jingle, and the cone, cup, flavour and topping buttons when you are serving.

Free and safe for kids

Ice Cream Truck is free to play in the browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, with no download, no account, no chat and nothing to buy with real money. Coins are only for the game, and they are saved on your own device. Grown-ups can read more on the Parents & Safety page.
