📅 Riddle of the Day

One new riddle every day. Solve it, keep your streak and challenge your friends.

A new riddle every day

Riddle of the Day is a free daily riddle for kids and families. Every day at midnight a new riddle appears, the same one for everybody, so you can talk about it at breakfast, at school or at work. Solve it, build a streak and share your result. It takes about a minute, and it's a lovely way to start the day with a little thinking. There's nothing to download and no account to make.

Riddle me this: why a daily riddle works

A good habit is a small habit. One riddle a day is short enough to fit into any morning, and it gives your brain a bit of exercise before the day gets going. Riddles train you to think about words in more than one way, and to question the first idea that comes to mind. Many teachers like to post a riddle of the day on the board for students to solve when they arrive, and families enjoy it at the breakfast table. Everyone sees the same riddle, so you can compare how you did with friends.

How the stars and streaks work

Solve the riddle on your first guess, with no help, and you earn three stars. Solve it within two guesses, or by using the first letters or the four choices, and you earn two stars. Anything after that is one star, and it still counts toward your streak. If you press Show the answer, the streak starts over tomorrow. Wrong guesses cost nothing, and small typos count as correct. Your streak is saved only on your own device.

Share your result without spoiling it

When you've finished, press Share my result. It copies a short message with your stars and your streak, but not the answer, so nobody's riddle gets spoiled. Grown-ups may want to help younger children share it.
