How to play
- Open the 🏗️ Build bar (or tap a 🏗️ sign on the mountain) to build lifts, runs and buildings.
- Every lift needs a run back down from its top.
- Beginners need green runs; experts want reds and blacks.
- Upgrade busy lifts: everybody hates long lift lines.
- Hire groomers and ski patrol, and set a fair ticket price.
- Tap a run you have built and press ⛷️ Ski it! to ride it yourself.
Build your own ski resort
Ski Resort Tycoon is a free 3D tycoon game where you turn an empty snowy mountain into a busy ski resort. Start with a little money and a magic carpet for beginners, clear your first runs through the forest, open a café and a rental shop, and watch the first skiers arrive. Make them happy and more come tomorrow. Grow your resort with bigger lifts, harder runs, a grand lodge, a slopeside hotel and a restaurant on the summit, until the car park is full and the lift lines are buzzing.
And when you are proud of a run you have built, press Ski it! and ski down it yourself.
Lifts
Lifts are the heart of a ski resort. The Bunny Carpet carries beginners up the nursery slope. The Base Chair, East Chair, Ridge Quad and Summit Express open up the mountain, each going from one station to another. Every lift can be upgraded, from a slow double chair to a quad, a six-pack express and finally an eight-seat express, carrying more skiers per minute. Long queues make guests grumpy, so watch your busiest lifts.
Runs
Ten runs are waiting to be cleared, from the Bunny Slope, Easy Street and Bluebird to Sunrise, East Bowl, Ridge Run, Summit Cruise, Glacier Bowl and the black Couloir. Each one is marked with the real colours: green for easy, blue for intermediate, red for advanced and black for experts. Skiers only ski runs that match their level, so a good resort has something for everyone. Groomers smooth your runs overnight, and snowmaking keeps them open in warm weather.
The village
Guests do not just ski. They rent skis, take lessons, buy gear, eat lunch and need somewhere to stay. Build a Rental Shop, a Ski School, a Base Café, a Grand Lodge, a Gear Shop and a Slopeside Hotel in the village, a hut on the mountain and a restaurant on the summit. Each one earns money and makes guests happier. Do not forget parking: a full car park means nobody else can come.
Guests and weather
Every guest is simulated: beginners, intermediates and experts arrive, queue for lifts, ride up, ski runs that suit them, stop for lunch and head home at the end of the day. They tell you what they think in the end-of-day report, from praise for a great powder day to grumbles about a slow lift line. Weather changes every day: powder days bring crowds, wind closes the high lifts, and warm spells melt the snow on runs without snowmaking.
Three ways to play
Career sets you 13 goals for growing your resort, each worth a star. Powder Rush starts you with a bigger budget and a huge crowd to handle. Free Play gives you a million dollars and no goals; your resort is kept between days so you can build your dream mountain.
What kids learn
Tycoon games teach planning, budgeting and cause and effect. Is it better to build a new lift or upgrade a busy one? Should the ticket be cheaper to bring more guests, or more expensive to earn more from each one? Children see how one decision changes the whole resort, and learn to read feedback and fix problems.
Play anywhere
Ski Resort Tycoon runs in any modern browser on computers, Chromebooks and tablets, with no download and no account. Drag to move the camera, right-drag or Q and E to turn, and scroll or pinch to zoom. Your resort is saved only in your browser, and there is nothing to buy. See the Parents & Safety page for more.
