A place value game where overshooting simply can't happen
Place Value Palace is a free place value game built around real base-ten blocks: hundred flats worth 100, ten rods worth 10, and one cubes worth 1, the same physical manipulatives many classrooms already use. A target number appears, and tapping blocks adds their value to your running total. Reach the exact target and the round celebrates automatically, showing the number broken into hundreds, tens, and ones so the connection is explicit.
There's no way to get it wrong. Any block that would push your total past the target is grayed out and simply can't be tapped, so overshooting is structurally impossible rather than just penalized. That keeps the challenge on choosing the right combination of blocks, not on avoiding a mistake screen.
Six tiers scale the target range and which blocks are available: teen numbers with tens and ones first, then the full two-digit range, then three tiers building up through small and larger three-digit numbers with hundreds added in, and a full within-999 championship. Every number you build earns a brick, and collecting enough bricks unlocks a new castle room, from the starting Gatehouse through Tower, Great Hall, Throne Room, and the Royal Vault. It's free, works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard, needs no download or account, and saves your bricks and best streaks locally in your own browser. Frequently asked questions
How do I play Place Value Palace?
Pick a room and a difficulty tier, then click Start Building. Tap hundred, ten, and one blocks to build the exact target number shown.
What happens if I tap too many blocks?
It can't happen. Any block that would push your total past the target is grayed out and can't be tapped, so there's no way to overshoot or get a wrong answer.
What are the blocks meant to represent?
Classic base-ten blocks: a hundred flat is worth 100, a ten rod is worth 10, and a one cube is worth 1, the same blocks many classrooms use to teach place value.
How do I unlock new castle rooms?
Every number you build earns bricks. Collecting enough bricks unlocks a new room permanently, from the starting Gatehouse up to the Royal Vault.
