How to play
- Pick a target zone first: Glove Side, Five-Hole, or Stick Side (or press 1/2/3).
- Then lock the power meter inside the green window (click Shoot, or press Space/Enter).
- The goalie independently guesses a zone. Pick a different one with good timing to score.
- Pick the same zone as the goalie and even a perfectly-timed shot gets saved.
- 5 shots total. Your score is goals out of 5.
The power meter, plus the decision real shootouts actually have
Hockey Shootout reuses the oscillating power-meter mechanic from Kick It Court, but adds the layer that makes a real shootout more than pure aim: picking where to shoot before you know what the goalie will do. The goalie guesses a zone to cover at the same moment you commit to yours, independently, so a perfectly-timed shot into the zone the goalie happens to guess still gets saved.
That means reading the goalie (or just mixing up your picks so you're not predictable) matters as much as the meter timing itself. Land good timing in a zone the goalie didn't guess and it's a goal; good timing in the same zone is a save; bad timing misses the net outright regardless of the zone battle. Unlike Kick It Court's 60-second timed round, this is a fixed 5-shot shootout, matching a real shootout's format, and your score is simply goals out of 5.
