A free four-board word guessing game
Quad Word Guess takes the classic Wordle-like formula and turns it up to four. Instead of one hidden five-letter word, there are four hidden words at once, arranged in a 2x2 grid of boards. Every guess you type gets checked against all four words simultaneously, and green, yellow, and gray tiles tell you how close you are on each board separately. The twist is the shared pool of guesses: you only get nine total, split across all four boards, so every guess has to work hard.
As soon as you solve one board, it locks in and stops using up your guesses, so the game gets a little easier as you go, but the pressure to use each guess wisely on the boards still open only grows. Daily mode gives everyone the same four words each day, perfect for comparing results with a friend. Not ready to wait for tomorrow? Switch to Practice mode for a fresh set of four random words any time, with no daily limit.
It's free, works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard, needs no download or account, and keeps a running streak count for daily puzzles solved on consecutive days, saved locally in your own browser. See the Parents & Safety page for the full privacy details, or try the single-board WordQuest Isles game, or browse the rest of the Word Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a normal Wordle-like game?
Instead of guessing one hidden word, you're solving four at once. Every guess you type is checked against all four words at the same time, and you only get nine guesses total to solve all four boards.
What do the colors mean?
Green means the letter is correct and in the right spot. Yellow means the letter is in that word but in a different spot. Gray means the letter isn't in that word at all. Each board is colored separately.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. Daily mode gives everyone the same four words each day. Switch to Practice mode any time for a new random set of four words with no daily limit.
What happens when I solve one of the four boards?
That board locks in as solved and stops using your guesses. Keep guessing to finish the remaining boards before you run out.
