How to play
- Choose a car and a match, then press Kick Off. After the 3-2-1 countdown, race for the ball!
- Drive with W and S, steer with A and D (arrow keys work too). Hold Shift to boost and press Space to jump.
- You are blue. Hit the ball into the orange goal at the far end and stop it going into yours.
- Hit the ball harder by driving into it faster. Jump to reach it in the air or to block a high shot.
- The boost bar in the corner empties as you boost and slowly refills when you don't.
- Matches last two minutes. If it's a draw, overtime starts and the next goal wins.
- Press C to switch between the ball camera, the car camera and the broadcast camera. In Two Players, player 2 uses the arrow keys, Enter to jump and Right Shift to boost.
Football, but with cars
Car Soccer 3D is a free game that mixes football and driving. Instead of kicking the ball, you drive into it. Two teams of little sports cars battle in a walled arena with a giant bouncing ball and a goal at each end. Boost across the pitch, jump to meet the ball in the air, and smash it into the net before the other team does.
The ball behaves like a real ball. It bounces off the floor, the glass walls, the angled corners and the ceiling, rolls along the ground and hangs in the air after a big hit. Drive into it at full speed with your boost on and it rockets away; tap it gently and it rolls just where you want. The goals have posts, a crossbar and nets, so a ball that hits the woodwork can bounce back into play.
Four ways to play
1 v 1 Rookie is a friendly match against a computer driver who is still learning. 1 v 1 Pro is a proper test against a fast opponent who lines up shots and comes back to defend. In 2 v 2 you get a computer team-mate. Whichever of you is nearer your own goal hangs back to defend, while the other one attacks.
Two Players lets two people play on one keyboard: player 1 drives with W, A, S and D, jumps with Space and boosts with Left Shift, while player 2 uses the arrow keys, Enter and Right Shift. The broadcast camera shows the whole pitch so you can both see what is going on.
Boost, jump and camera views
Your boost bar fills up slowly on its own. Holding Shift burns it for a burst of speed and a much bigger hit on the ball, so save it for a shot, a race to the ball or a last-second save. Jumping lets you reach bouncing balls, block shots and even head the ball into the goal.
The ball camera sits behind your car and always looks at the ball, which makes it easy to line up shots. The car camera looks where your car is pointing, and the broadcast camera shows the whole arena from the side, like on TV.
Stars and cars
Win a match to earn a star. Win by two clear goals for two stars and by three for all three. Stars unlock three more cars: the Nippy Hatch, which turns very sharply; the Brick Wall, a big SUV that's great in goal; and the Rocket Sedan, the fastest car of all.
