💥 Bumper Arena

Ram them off the arena. Last car standing wins.

🏆 Wins: 0 ⭐ Stars: 0 💥 Knockouts: 0

How to play

  • Choose a car and an arena, then press Enter the Arena. The match starts after a 3-2-1 countdown.
  • Drive with W (gas), S (brake and reverse) and A and D (steer). The arrow keys work too.
  • Ram the other cars to push them over the edge. Cars that fall into the water are out.
  • You get the knockout if you were the last car to hit a car before it fell.
  • Grab the ⚡ Turbo for a burst of speed and a bigger shove, or 🏋️ Heavy to become very hard to push for six seconds.
  • Be the last car on the arena to win. Win for one star, and win with enough knockouts for two or three.
  • Two Players: player 1 drives with W, A, S and D, and player 2 uses the arrow keys. Press C for a chase camera in one-player games, and P to pause.

A bumper car battle high above the water

Bumper Arena is a free 3D bumper car game where the only rule is to stay on. Four or six chunky little cars line up around a floating arena above a stadium pool, the countdown hits zero, and everyone charges. Ram your rivals, shove them towards the edge and send them splashing into the water far below. The last car left on the arena wins.

The collisions are properly physical. A head-on crash stops both cars dead, a hit on the back corner sends a car spinning, and a heavy van can bulldoze a little hatchback right across the floor. Push from the middle of the arena outwards and your target has nowhere to go. But be careful: a rival can dodge at the last moment, and a car that charges too hard can sail straight off the edge by itself.

Four ways to play

Sumo Ring is the classic: a round ring with three rivals. If nobody has won after 90 seconds it is sudden death, and the ring slowly shrinks until there is almost nowhere left to hide. Shrinking Arena is a checkerboard of floor tiles with five rivals, and after a few seconds the outer tiles start to shake, glow red and drop away, closer and closer to the middle. Ice Rink is the same idea on slippery ice, where cars slide and spin and stopping takes a long time.

Two Players lets two people play on one keyboard. Player 1 drives with W, A, S and D and player 2 uses the arrow keys, and two computer cars join in to keep things lively. It is a great way to settle an argument with a brother, sister or friend.

Power-ups and knockouts

Every few seconds a power-up appears on the floor. The orange ⚡ Turbo gives you three seconds of extra speed and power, perfect for a big shove. The purple 🏋️ Heavy makes your car bigger and much heavier for six seconds, so other cars bounce off you and you can push them around easily. The computer drivers go for the power-ups too, so be quick.

When a car falls, the last car that hit it gets the knockout, and the news feed in the corner tells everyone who knocked out whom. The computer drivers pick on whoever is nearest, and sometimes on whoever is closest to the edge, and they will back away from the edge themselves if they get too close.

Stars and cars

Winning a match earns a star. Win with two knockouts of your own for a second star, and knock out everyone (or four cars in the Shrinking Arena) for the third. Stars unlock three more cars, and they really do drive differently. The Bumper Hatch is a good all-rounder, the Tough SUV and the Big Van are heavy and hard to push but slower to turn, and the Rocket Coupe is light, fast and nimble but easy to knock about.

Why bumper car games are fun

Bumper cars are pure, simple fun: no racing line to learn, just the joy of a good crash. Bumper Arena adds a little strategy, because position matters more than speed. Keep to the middle, wait for rivals to tangle with each other, then pick them off near the edge. Rounds are quick, so there is always time for a rematch.

Bumper Arena is free, needs no download or account, and keeps your wins and stars only in your own browser. It works with a keyboard on computers and Chromebooks, and with on-screen buttons on tablets. See the Parents & Safety page for details.
