A real 2 player split-screen racing game, not a single-track reskin
Split Screen Showdown gives each player their own screen half with their own view of the race, Player 1 on the left driving with W, A, S, D, and Player 2 on the right driving with the arrow keys, both racing at the same time on one keyboard. There are 5 original tracks to choose from, Sunset Oval, Zigzag Alley, Grand Loop, Twin Peaks Circuit, and Rally Ring, each with a different mix of long straights and tight corners, plus a genuine track selector so you're not stuck replaying the same layout.
Every track has a rocket boost pickup and an oil slick pickup, so races have real back-and-forth instead of whoever gets ahead first staying ahead. A light rubber-band system also gives whichever player is behind a small speed boost, keeping close races close without punishing the player in the lead. Beyond a Quick Race, the Best of 3 tournament mode plays a real 3-round match with a running score, first to 2 wins takes it, and completing tournaments unlocks new kart color pairs.
