📡 Echo Maze

Send out an echo to see the walls for a moment, then find your way from memory.

🗺️ Maze 1/6 👣 0 steps 📡 0 echoes used

How to play

  • Tap Echo Pulse (or press Space) to light up the maze walls for a couple of seconds.
  • Memorize the path, then tap an adjacent tile (or use arrow keys/WASD) to move there.
  • Walls are invisible between echoes. Bumping one just wastes your move, no penalty.
  • Echo Pulse needs a short breather between uses, so plan your route before you send one.
  • Reach the glowing exit to unlock the next, slightly bigger maze.

A maze game about memory, not speed

Echo Maze inverts the usual maze-navigation formula: instead of always seeing the walls and racing to the exit, the walls are invisible by default. An Echo Pulse briefly lights up the whole layout for about 1.6 seconds before it fades, on a longer cooldown before you can send another. That forces a different kind of thinking: study the layout during your echo window, commit a route to memory, then move through it once the lights go out.

Every maze is mathematically guaranteed solvable. Rather than hand-placed layouts, each one is a perfect maze, meaning it's generated by a seeded randomized carve that produces exactly one path between any two points, no dead-end ambiguity and no unsolvable board. Six mazes of increasing size ramp up how much you have to hold in memory at once, with your furthest unlock saved locally so you can pick up where you left off.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see the maze walls all the time?

That's the whole point of the game. Walls are invisible by default; an Echo Pulse lights them up for about 1.6 seconds, then they fade, so you have to memorize the layout instead of just reacting to what's visible on screen.

What happens if I bump into a wall?

Nothing bad, it just wastes that move. There's no penalty beyond having to try again.

Are the mazes always solvable?

Yes. Each maze is a perfect maze generated by a seeded randomized carve, which mathematically guarantees exactly one path between any two points, so there's always a real solution to find.

How many mazes are there?

6 mazes of increasing size. Your furthest-unlocked maze is saved on this device.
