🚗 Unblock Me

Slide blocks out of the way to clear a path for the red piece to the exit.

The classic sliding-block logic puzzle, 6 levels deep

Unblock Me belongs to a puzzle family often called Rush Hour: a grid full of fixed-orientation blocks, one of them your target, and your job is to slide the others out of the way (never rotating anything) until the target has a clear path to the exit. Every block here can only move along the one direction it's oriented for, so a vertical block that's blocking your path has to be walked up or down out of the row, and figuring out which blocks actually need to move (and in what order) is the entire puzzle.

The 6 levels here are hand-designed rather than randomly generated, starting with a single blocker and building up to boards where 3 different blocks all need to be repositioned before the target piece has a real path through. Each level unlocks the next the moment you solve it, and your furthest progress is saved automatically so you can pick up where you left off, or jump back to replay an earlier level from the level strip above the board.

No timer, no score pressure, just moves. Works with mouse, touch, or keyboard (arrow keys slide a selected piece one cell at a time), loads instantly with no login, and is safe for a school Chromebook. See the rest of the lineup on the Block Games hub, or more logic puzzles on the Puzzle Games page.

Frequently asked questions

How do pieces move in Unblock Me?

Every piece is fixed as either horizontal or vertical and can never rotate. A horizontal piece can only slide left or right, a vertical piece can only slide up or down.

How do I move a piece?

Click or tap a piece to select it, then click or tap an empty cell in line with it to slide it there (it stops early if another piece blocks the way). With a piece selected, the arrow keys also slide it one cell at a time.

How do I win a level?

Clear a path so the red arrow piece can slide all the way to the highlighted exit cell on the right edge of the board.

Does my level progress save?

Yes. Your furthest unlocked level is saved automatically in your own browser, and you can replay any unlocked level at any time from the level strip above the board.
