๐ Basketball Hoops Shootout
Read the distance, lock your power, and sink as many baskets as you can in 60 seconds.
How to play
- Click, tap, or press Space/Enter to lock the rising-and-falling power meter.
- The hoop is fixed, but your shooting spot moves every shot, farther spots need more power.
- A perfectly-locked shot is a swish for bonus points; a good-enough lock is a regular make.
- Build a streak of makes for an escalating bonus, but the window to make gets slightly tighter as your streak grows.
The same power meter, a genuinely different skill
Basketball Hoops Shootout uses the same rising-and-falling power-meter mechanic as Kick It Court, click or tap to lock it, but changes what the meter actually tests. The hoop never moves, but your shooting spot does, every basket puts you somewhere new on the court, closer or farther from the hoop, and the power you need to lock scales with that distance. Reading how far away you are and translating it into the right meter height is the real skill here, not just reaction timing.
Lock the meter close enough to the ideal power for your current spot and it's a make; nail it almost exactly and it's a swish worth bonus points. Consecutive makes build a streak that adds an escalating point bonus, but the forgiving window shrinks slightly the longer the streak runs, so a long streak asks more precision with every shot, not less. The whole thing runs on a 60-second clock, score as many points as you can before time runs out.
Works with mouse, touch, or keyboard (Space or Enter to lock), no download or account needed, and your best score saves automatically in your own browser. For the same power-meter mechanic aimed at a soccer goal instead, try Kick It Court, or browse the rest of the lineup on the Sports Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
How do I aim my shot?
There's no separate aiming, the ball always heads for the hoop. Watch the rising and falling power meter and click, tap, or press Space/Enter to lock it at the right height, higher for a farther shooting spot, lower for a closer one.
How do I know how much power to use?
Your shooting spot changes every shot, and the farther it is from the hoop, the higher up the meter you need to lock. Reading the distance and matching it to the meter is the real skill.
What's a swish?
Locking the meter extremely close to the ideal power for that shot is a swish, worth a bonus 5 points on top of the regular make.
Is Basketball Hoops Shootout free with no account needed?
Yes. It's free with no download and no account, and your best score saves only in your own browser.
