Load the truck, balance the load

Truck Loader Puzzle is a packing puzzle with a twist. Every level gives you an empty truck seen from above and a loading bay full of crates in different shapes: little boxes, long pallets, chunky squares and awkward L-shaped loads. Your job is to get every single crate onto the truck. The pieces fill the load space exactly, so there is no room to spare and every gap matters.

Fitting the crates is only half of the puzzle. Each crate also has a weight, from light cardboard boxes of one tonne to heavy steel crates of nine. Real truck drivers know that a load has to be spread over the axles: too much weight at the back and the front wheels lift, too much at the front and the steering gets heavy. In this game the balance meter under the truck shows where the centre of your load is, and when the truck is full that marker has to be in the green zone.

How to play

Drag a crate from the loading bay and drop it on the trailer. A green shadow shows where it will land, a red one means it does not fit there. While you are holding a crate, press R, right-click or tap the 🔄 button to turn it. On a phone or tablet you can also tap a crate to pick it up and then tap the spot on the trailer where it should go. Changed your mind? Tap a crate that is already on the truck to take it back out.

When the last crate is loaded the game checks the balance. If the marker is outside the green zone, a message tells you whether the load is too heavy at the front or the back, and you can move crates around until it is right. The heavy steel crates are usually the key: put them over the middle of the trailer and fill the ends with the light cardboard boxes.

Stars

Every level can be solved with a perfectly balanced load, and the stars show how close you got. One star means the load is inside the green zone, two stars mean it is close to the middle, and three stars mean it is spot on, in the bright green strip in the centre of the meter. Stuck? The 💡 hint button puts one crate in its place from the solution, but a level solved with a hint gives at most two stars.

Three trucks, 60 loads

The first 20 loads use a small Box Van, perfect for learning the rules. With 30 stars you unlock the Lorry, with a longer load space, more crates and a tighter green zone, and with 75 stars the Semi Trailer, whose big trailer takes ten or more crates at once. The levels open one after another, and you can replay any of them to improve your stars. Every level is built from a real solution, so it can always be solved, even if it does not look like it at first.

The daily load

Every day there is a brand new load to pack, the same for everyone who plays that day. Solve it to keep your daily streak going: the streak counts the days in a row that you have loaded the daily truck. Come back tomorrow for the next one.

Tips for packers

Start with the biggest and most awkward crates. The long and L-shaped pieces have the fewest places they can go, while single boxes fit almost anywhere, so keep the small ones for last. Fill the corners and edges first, because a gap in a corner can usually only be filled by a single box. Watch the balance meter while you load: it moves with every crate, so you can see straight away if all the heavy crates are ending up at one end.

If the trailer is full but the load is unbalanced, look for two crates of the same shape but different weights, one at each end, and swap them. That moves the weight without changing the fit at all.

Good for the brain

Packing puzzles train spatial reasoning: turning shapes in your head, seeing which gap a piece will fit and planning a few moves ahead. The balance part adds a little real-world physics, the idea of a centre of mass and why weight should be spread out evenly. It is a calm puzzle with no timer, so you can think at your own pace, and the levels grow slowly from simple to tricky.

How real trucks are loaded

Loading a real truck is a job that needs care. Warehouse staff plan where each pallet goes so the load is spread evenly over the axles, because every axle has a legal weight limit and a badly loaded truck brakes and steers worse. Heavy goods go low and near the middle, light and bulky goods fill the rest, and everything is packed tightly so nothing can slide around on the road. This puzzle keeps the two most important ideas, a tight fit and an even balance, and turns them into a game.

Controls

On a computer: drag crates with the mouse, R or a right-click rotates the crate you are holding, H gives a hint and Esc puts the crate in your hand back in the loading bay. On phones and tablets: drag with your finger, or tap a crate and then tap where it should go, and use the 🔄 and 💡 buttons at the top of the game.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to use every crate?

Yes. The crates fill the load space exactly, so every one of them has to fit before the load can be checked.

What does the balance meter show?

Where the centre of the load's weight is along the truck. When the truck is full, the marker must be inside the green zone over the middle.

How do I rotate a crate?

While holding a crate, press R, right-click, or tap the 🔄 button at the top of the game.

Can every level be solved?

Yes. Each level is built from a real solution with a perfectly balanced load, so three stars are always possible.

How do I unlock the bigger trucks?

Collect stars: the Lorry opens at 30 stars and the Semi Trailer at 75.

What is the daily load?

A new puzzle every day. Solve it on days in a row to build up your daily streak.

Is Truck Loader Puzzle free?

Yes. It is free to play in the browser with no download, no account and nothing to buy.
