A European lorry simulator in your browser

Euro Lorry Simulator 3D is a European trucking game you can play straight away in a web browser. You drive a flat-fronted cab-over lorry, the kind you see on every motorway from Manchester to Milan, pulling a 13.6-metre trailer: a curtain-sider full of tea or car parts, a refrigerated trailer of fresh oranges, a milk tanker or a stack of Highland timber. Each job is a single delivery across the countryside, with all the jobs a real lorry driver has to fit in on the way.

If you enjoy the big European truck simulators on PC, this is a quick, light take on the same idea that runs on almost any device. There is no download and no account, and a delivery takes a few minutes.

Britain on the left, the continent on the right

The thing that makes this game different from an American truck simulator is the road itself. The two British routes drive on the left, with speed limits in miles per hour, white town signs and grey slate roofs. The three continental routes drive on the right in kilometres per hour, past vineyards, Alpine chalets and Mediterranean villas. Everything flips with the side of the road: the lay-bys, the services, the oncoming traffic and the border barrier.

If you drift onto the wrong side for more than a moment the game takes points off, so on the British routes you really have to think about it, especially when you pull out of a stop or round a bend. A small tag on the screen says keep LEFT or keep right as a reminder.

Five European deliveries

Cotswolds Run is the gentle start: tea and biscuits through honey-coloured villages and green hills, with a stop at the motorway services and a roadside check site. Highland Timber takes a heavy load of logs along a winding Scottish road, with a weight check, a café break by a loch and a services stop before the timber yard.

Rhine Valley Freight crosses a border with a curtain-sider of car parts, past vineyards and windmills, with a Rasthof for fuel and a Parkplatz for your break. Alpine Pass is a tanker of fresh milk over hairpin bends and steep grades, with a toll plaza and a weight check on the way up. Riviera Night follows the coast after dark with fresh oranges in a reefer, a border crossing and an Area di Servizio. Free Roam is an endless road with optional stops.

Services, weighbridges, breaks and borders

The fuel gauge on the left drains as you drive, faster with a heavy load and uphill. Pull into the services, park in the bay by the pumps and fill up before you run dry, or roadside assistance will have to bring emergency diesel, which costs points. European lorries also carry a tachograph, which records driving time. The ⏱️ meter shows how much of your driving time you have used; when it gets near the top, find a rest area and take your 45-minute break, shown as a quick fade, and the meter resets.

At a check site or weight control, pull onto the weighbridge in the lay-by, keep the speed right down and stop. After a moment the weight is read and the light turns green. At border control the barrier stays down until you come to a complete stop at the line, then your passport and CMR consignment note are checked and the barrier lifts. On the Alpine route you pay at the toll plaza: slow down and the barrier opens.

Driving a cab-over lorry

European lorries have a flat front because the cab sits right on top of the engine, which keeps the whole vehicle inside the length limits and gives the driver a great view. The trailer is hinged at the fifth wheel and cuts inside every corner, so take bends wide and slow, especially on the narrow Highland and Alpine roads. With a heavy load the lorry is slow to accelerate, slow to stop and slow up hills, and on the way down it gathers speed if you let it.

To park at a stop, swing into the bay gently and drive straight for a few metres so the trailer lines up behind the cab. The whole lorry has to finish inside the yellow bay with the cab's front by the post. If you overshoot you can reverse, but keep an eye on the trailer angle so you do not jackknife.

Score, pay and new lorries

Every delivery is scored out of 100. Points come off for bumps, harsh driving, cargo damage, speeding past cameras, driving on the wrong side, skipped stops, rolling over the weighbridge too fast, running out of fuel, going over your driving hours and arriving after the deadline. Score 88 or more for three stars. The pay for each job, in euros, depends on your score and the condition of the cargo, minus what you spend on diesel and tolls. Stars unlock new lorries: Nordic Blue, Continental Orange and the silent E-Lorry.

Controls

On a computer: W or the up arrow accelerates, S or the down arrow brakes and reverses once you have stopped, and A and D or the arrow keys steer. F refuels, takes a break or unloads at a stop, C changes the camera, H sounds the horn, L switches the lights, Q and E work the indicators, R puts the lorry back on the road and P pauses. On phones and tablets, touch buttons appear for steering, the pedals and the stop action.

Free, safe and made for every device

Euro Lorry Simulator 3D runs in any modern browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones. There are no adverts inside the game, no accounts, no chat and nothing to buy, and your progress is saved only on your device. See the Parents & Safety page for more.

Which side of the road do I drive on?

On the two British routes (marked UK) you drive on the left with speeds in mph. On the continental routes (marked Europe) you drive on the right in km/h.
