A free two-mode word finder and crossword solver
Word Finder is a tool, not a scored game: two different ways to search the same curated word list, depending on what you're stuck on. Pattern mode works like a crossword solver. Type the letters you already know in their real positions and a question mark for every letter you don't know yet, like C?T, and it finds every word that fits the pattern, such as CAT, COT, and CUT.
Letters mode works like a Scrabble-style word finder instead. Type the letters you have available, in any order, and it finds every word that can be spelled using only those letters, each one used only as many times as it appears in what you typed. Got a blank tile? Add a question mark for each one, and it can stand in for any letter you need. Results are sorted with the longest words first, since those are usually worth more in tile games.
The word list behind both modes is a curated set of a few hundred common English words built for this site, shown right in the stats above the search box, not a massive professional dictionary, so a genuinely obscure word might come up empty. It's free, works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard, and needs no download or account. See the Parents & Safety page for the full privacy details, or try the syllable-based Syllable Search puzzle, or browse the rest of the Word Games hub.
