Boardwalk Ball Toss: Winter Wonderland
The same ramp toss, but an icy ramp changes the ball's roll friction.
How to play
- Set your aim with the arrow keys, A/D, or the on-screen ◀ ▶ buttons.
- Hold Space, or press and hold the Charge button (or the ramp itself), to fill the power meter.
- Release to roll. The icy ramp has much less friction, so the same charge slides farther than usual.
- Drift too far sideways and the ball bounces off the ramp's side rails instead of flying off.
- The rings pay out from the outside in, the smallest ring in the middle is the hardest and pays the most.
- You get 5 balls per round. Your total score converts to a ticket tally at the end, just for fun.

A ball drop arcade game with a low-friction icy ramp
Boardwalk Ball Toss: Winter Wonderland keeps the exact same real momentum-based roll as the rest of the series, aim, hold to charge a power meter, and release to send the ball forward with speed based directly on how long you charged, but changes the surface the ball is rolling on. The ramp itself is icy, so the constant deceleration from friction that normally slows the ball down is cut well below the Classic ramp's baseline. The same charge that comes up short on a normal ramp carries noticeably farther here, and sideways drift barely slows down either, so a shot that clips a rail tends to keep sliding rather than settling quickly.
That lower friction changes how you have to play. Charges that would land safely in the mid rings on the Classic ramp can slide straight past them here, so hitting the small bonus ring in the center, still the smallest target and still worth the most, means backing off the power a little rather than charging as hard as possible. The outer ring is still the easiest and lowest-value catch, with the mid rings worth more in between. A round is 5 balls, and the total converts into the same cosmetic ticket tally as the rest of the series, with its own separate best score saved to your browser.
Prefer normal ramp friction while you get a feel for the aim and charge? Boardwalk Ball Toss: Classic is the baseline version. Want the target to move instead of the physics changing? Boardwalk Ball Toss: Carnival Nights keeps the friction normal but slides the whole ring bank side to side. For a completely different kind of classic arcade action, try the drifting rock belt of Asteroid Drift: Classic Belt.
Frequently asked questions
How do I control Boardwalk Ball Toss: Winter Wonderland?
Set your aim with the left and right arrow keys, A and D, or the on-screen aim buttons. Hold Space or the on-screen Charge button to fill the power meter, then release to roll the ball. You can also press and hold anywhere on the ramp to charge.
What makes Winter Wonderland different from the Classic ramp?
The ramp itself is icy, so rolling friction is much lower. The exact same charge that stops short on the Classic ramp will slide noticeably farther here, and sideways drift barely slows down either, so shots keep sliding toward the rails more than usual. It's the same momentum physics, just tuned for a slicker surface.
How does the ball's roll actually work?
It's real momentum, not a fixed animation. A longer charge launches the ball faster, and on this icy ramp there's much less friction to slow it back down, so it carries farther than it would on a normal ramp. Aiming to one side gives it real sideways speed too, and if that drift carries it into a side rail, it bounces off instead of passing through.
How do the point rings work?
The ball settles wherever momentum carries it, and whichever ring it lands closest to the center of decides your score. The outer ring is worth the least and is the easiest to reach, and each ring inward is worth more. The smallest ring in the very middle is the bonus ring, worth the most and the hardest to land in, since the icy ramp makes overshooting it easy.
