How to play

  • Set your aim with the arrow keys, A/D, or the on-screen ◀ ▶ buttons.
  • Hold Space, or press and hold the Charge button (or the ramp itself), to fill the power meter.
  • Release to roll. A longer charge sends the ball farther up the ramp before friction slows it to a stop.
  • The ring bank slides side to side, so time your charge and aim for where it will be, not where it is now.
  • The rings pay out from the outside in, the smallest ring in the middle is the hardest and pays the most.
  • You get 5 balls per round. Your total score converts to a ticket tally at the end, just for fun.

A carnival arcade game with a moving target bank

Boardwalk Ball Toss: Carnival Nights takes the same real momentum-based ramp toss as the rest of the series and adds a genuine new difficulty axis: the whole bank of point rings glides side to side under the lights instead of sitting still. Every part of the underlying roll works exactly like the Classic ramp. Charging longer gives the ball more forward speed, a constant deceleration from friction and the incline slows it down the same way a real ball loses momentum rolling uphill, and drifting into a side rail causes a real bounce instead of a pass-through. What changes is the target itself, which means landing in a high-value ring takes real timing on top of the usual charge-and-aim skill, since the rings you're aiming for won't be in the same spot by the time the ball actually arrives.

Scoring still comes down to where the ball finally settles relative to the ring bank's current center: a wide outer ring worth the least, a couple of mid rings worth more, and a small bonus ring in the middle worth the most of all and the hardest to hit, doubly so now that it's sliding. A round is 5 balls, and the total score converts into a cosmetic ticket tally at the end, the same boardwalk-style flourish as the rest of the series, alongside its own separate best score saved to your browser.

Prefer the rings to hold still while you line up a shot? Boardwalk Ball Toss: Classic is the baseline version of this same ramp. Want the physics themselves to change instead of the target? Boardwalk Ball Toss: Winter Wonderland swaps in an icy ramp that cuts the friction so every roll slides farther for the same charge. Frequently asked questions

How do I control Boardwalk Ball Toss: Carnival Nights?

Set your aim with the left and right arrow keys, A and D, or the on-screen aim buttons. Hold Space or the on-screen Charge button to fill the power meter, then release to roll the ball. You can also press and hold anywhere on the ramp to charge.

What makes Carnival Nights different from the Classic ramp?

The whole bank of point rings slides side to side under the lights instead of staying put. The ball's momentum physics are exactly the same as Classic, but you now have to time your charge and aim to where the rings will be when the ball actually arrives, not just where they are right now.

How does the ball's roll actually work?

It's real momentum, not a fixed animation. A longer charge launches the ball faster, so it rolls farther up the ramp before friction and the incline slow it to a stop. Aiming to one side gives it real sideways speed too, and if that sideways drift carries it into a side rail, it bounces off instead of passing through.

How do the point rings work?

The ball settles wherever momentum carries it, and whichever ring it lands closest to the center of decides your score. The outer ring is worth the least and is the easiest to reach, and each ring inward is worth more. The smallest ring in the very middle is the bonus ring, worth the most and the hardest to land in, especially while it's on the move.

Is Boardwalk Ball Toss: Carnival Nights free with no account needed?

Yes. It's free with no download and no account, and your best score saves only in your own browser.
