How to play

  • Set your aim with the arrow keys, A/D, or the on-screen ◀ ▶ buttons.
  • Hold Space, or press and hold the Charge button (or the ramp itself), to fill the power meter.
  • Release to roll. A longer charge sends the ball farther up the ramp before friction slows it to a stop.
  • Drift too far sideways and the ball bounces off the ramp's side rails instead of flying off.
  • The rings pay out from the outside in, the smallest ring in the middle is the hardest and pays the most.
  • You get 5 balls per round. Your total score converts to a ticket tally at the end, just for fun.

A ball drop arcade game built on real momentum physics

Boardwalk Ball Toss: Classic is a ball drop arcade game in the spirit of the classic ramp-and-rings carnival machines: set your aim, hold to charge a power meter, and release to send the ball rolling up a wooden ramp. Nothing about the roll is a scripted animation. The ball starts with real forward speed based on exactly how long you charged, and from there friction and the ramp's incline steadily slow it down, the same way a real ball would lose momentum rolling uphill. Aim to either side and the ball also carries real sideways speed, so a shot that drifts too far toward an edge bounces cleanly off the ramp's side rail rather than sliding straight through it.

Wherever the ball finally comes to rest decides your score. A bank of rings sits at the top of the ramp, arranged from a wide, forgiving outer ring worth the least, in through a couple of mid-value rings, down to a small bonus ring right in the center that pays out the most of all. Because that bonus ring is both the smallest target and the farthest a ball can practically travel, landing in it takes a genuinely precise combination of charge length and aim, not just holding the power meter as long as possible. Charge too little and the ball never reaches the rings at all, and charge too much without centering your aim and it can sail past the back wall for nothing. Each round gives you 5 balls, and your total score converts into a boardwalk-style ticket tally at the end, purely for fun with nothing to redeem, alongside a best score saved to your own browser.

Boardwalk Ball Toss: Carnival Nights keeps the rings sliding side to side under the lights, and Boardwalk Ball Toss: Winter Wonderland swaps in an icy ramp that cuts the friction so every roll slides farther. Frequently asked questions

How do I control Boardwalk Ball Toss: Classic?

Set your aim with the left and right arrow keys, A and D, or the on-screen aim buttons. Hold Space or the on-screen Charge button to fill the power meter, then release to roll the ball. You can also press and hold anywhere on the ramp to charge.

How does the ball's roll actually work?

It's real momentum, not a fixed animation. A longer charge launches the ball faster, so it rolls farther up the ramp before friction and the incline slow it to a stop. Aiming to one side gives it real sideways speed too, and if that sideways drift carries it into a side rail, it bounces off instead of passing through.

How do the point rings work?

The ball settles wherever momentum carries it, and whichever ring it lands closest to the center of decides your score. The outer ring is worth the least and is the easiest to reach, and each ring inward is worth more. The smallest ring in the very middle is the bonus ring, worth the most and the hardest to land in, since it takes both a precise charge and precise aim.

How many balls do I get, and what are tickets?

Each round gives you 5 balls to roll. At the end of the round your total score converts into a ticket tally, a fun boardwalk-style flourish with nothing to redeem, just bragging rights and a best score saved to your browser.

Is Boardwalk Ball Toss: Classic free with no account needed?

Yes. It's free with no download and no account, and your best score saves only in your own browser.
