Visual discrimination built for the very youngest players
Spot It Junior is a visual discrimination game for preschoolers and kindergartners built around a simple, calm loop: a grid of shapes appears, every one identical except for one that's different, and the child taps the odd one out. A correct tap celebrates and starts a fresh grid; a wrong tap just wobbles the shape for a moment with no penalty at all, no lost life, and no timer running out, so a child can keep looking as long as they need.
Four tiers change what kind of difference needs spotting. Tier 1 hides a shape of a different color among otherwise identical shapes, the easiest and most obvious difference to catch. Tier 2 hides a shape of a different type among shapes that all share the same color, which asks the eye to compare outlines instead of colors. Tier 3 hides a shape that's simply a different size, a subtler difference that takes real close looking. Tier 4 mixes all three kinds of differences into a bigger nine-shape grid, a genuine stretch goal for a confident kindergartner.
Every completed round counts toward a streak, and every few rounds earns a star, so there is a real sense of progress alongside the unhurried pace. Spot It Junior is free, works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard, needs no download or account, and saves progress locally in your own browser, which also makes it school-safe on a shared classroom device.
