🔷 Shape Memory Match

Flip two cards at a time to find every shape pair.

Twelve shapes, one classic memory game

Shape Memory Match is a memory matching game built around the same flip-two-cards format as the rest of AnonArcade's memory games hub, using plain geometric shapes instead of pictures. The first six, circle, square, triangle, star, diamond, and rectangle, are the shapes most preschoolers meet first. The full set of twelve adds oval, trapezoid, cross, arrow, pentagon, and hexagon, shapes that most shape games never bother including, for a genuinely richer challenge on the largest grid.

Three grid sizes scale the challenge exactly like every other game in the hub. Small uses 12 cards (6 pairs, the basic shapes). Medium steps up to 16 cards (8 pairs). Large goes to 24 cards (12 pairs, the full shape set), a real test of both shape recognition and memory. Every shape is drawn in a random color each round, so the same shape set never looks quite the same twice, and your best time and best move count are saved separately for each grid size.

Shape Memory Match is free, works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard, needs no download or account, and saves your best scores locally in your own browser, which also makes it school-safe on a shared classroom Chromebook. See the Parents & Safety page for the full privacy details, or try Sort My Shapes for a shape-sorting game instead of matching, or browse the rest of the Memory Games hub.

Frequently asked questions

How do I play Shape Memory Match?

Flip a card to reveal its shape, then flip a second card. If the shapes match, both stay face up. If not, they flip back over after a moment. Find every pair to clear the board.

What shapes are included?

Twelve in total: circle, square, triangle, star, diamond, rectangle, oval, trapezoid, cross, arrow, pentagon, and hexagon, each drawn in a random color.

Is there a timer working against me?

No. Take as long as you like. Your time and move count are tracked and your best for each grid size is saved, purely so you can try to beat your own record.

What ages is Shape Memory Match good for?

All ages. The Small grid with simple shapes suits a preschooler, while the Large 24-card grid with less common shapes like pentagons and hexagons is a real challenge for an older kid or adult.
