How to play
- Choose your horse, then press Go to the ranch.
- Hold W or the up arrow to ride, S to slow down and A / D to steer. Hold Shift to gallop. On a phone, push the pad forward and use the Gallop button.
- Ride into the yellow circle in front of the stable and stop to feed, brush, wash and treat your horse. Feeding refills its energy for galloping.
- Stop at the blue COURSES sign next to the arena to pick a show-jumping course. Ride through the red START gate to start the clock.
- Jump the fences in number order. Press Space as you reach the white line in front of each fence; the Pony Club course jumps for you. A knocked pole adds 4 seconds.
- Ride out through the START gate after the last fence to finish. Win stars to unlock new horses, and find all ten golden horseshoes on the trail.
Your own horse on a sunny ranch
Horse Ranch is a free 3D horse riding game where you and your horse have a whole ranch to enjoy. There's a big red barn with stalls and hay bales, white-fenced paddocks where other horses graze, a sandy show-jumping arena with colourful fences, and a dusty trail that winds all the way around the ranch through the trees.
Riding feels like the real thing. Squeeze on and your horse walks, then breaks into a bouncy trot, a rocking canter and finally a thundering gallop, with legs, mane and tail moving differently at every pace. Steer around the paddocks, race along the trail or just walk slowly and enjoy the view.
Look after your horse
A happy horse is a good horse. Ride into the yellow circle in front of the stable and stop, and you can feed your horse crunchy carrots, brush its coat until it shines, give it a wash and spoil it with an apple. Galloping uses up energy, so come back for a feed before a big ride, and keep your horse clean and happy between shows.
Show jumping in the arena
The arena has three show-jumping courses. Pony Club is perfect for beginners: your horse jumps by itself, so you just steer to each fence in order. Blue Ribbon and Champion Cup are ridden by you: press jump as you reach the white line in front of each fence to fly over it. Take off too early or too late and a pole falls with a clatter, adding four seconds to your time.
Ride through the red start gate to start the clock, jump the numbered fences in order (a yellow arrow shows the next one) and ride back out through the gate to finish. Fast clear rounds win up to three stars on each course, and stars unlock new horses.
Six beautiful horses
Start with a chestnut with a white blaze or a classic bay with a black mane and tail. Win stars to unlock a shiny black horse with a white star, a golden palomino with a creamy mane, a dapple grey covered in soft spots and a patchy brown-and-white pinto.
Golden horseshoes
Ten golden horseshoes are hidden along the trail around the ranch. Ride the whole loop to collect them all; your horseshoe count is saved, so you can find the rest another day.
Horse Ranch is free, runs in any modern browser on computers, tablets and phones, and needs no download or sign-up. How do I jump a fence?
Ride towards the fence at a trot or faster and press Space (or the Jump button) when you reach the white line in front of it. On the Pony Club course your horse jumps by itself.

Hold W to ride and hold Shift (or the Gallop button on a phone). Galloping uses energy, so feed your horse at the stable when the energy bar gets low.
How do I unlock new horses?
Win stars on the show-jumping courses. New horses unlock at 2, 4, 6 and 8 stars.
Where are the golden horseshoes?
All ten are floating above the dusty trail that loops around the ranch. Follow the trail all the way round.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Push the pad forward to ride and sideways to steer, and use the Jump and Gallop buttons. Drag the screen to look around.
