🐍 Snake Runner
Switch lanes to dodge walls, collect food to grow, race for distance.
How to play
- Switch between 5 lanes with Up/Down, W/S, the on-screen buttons, or swipe.
- Red gapped walls scroll toward you, only some lanes are blocked at each one.
- Collect apples to grow your trailing body and add to your score.
- 3 hearts, hitting a blocked lane costs one with a brief safety flash after.
Snake, reframed as an endless runner
Snake Runner takes the classic eat-and-grow formula and puts it on rails: instead of steering freely around a grid, the world scrolls past your head at a fixed screen position, and you switch between 5 lanes to find the safe gap through each oncoming obstacle wall. Every wall only blocks 1 or 2 of the 5 lanes, so there's always a way through, reading it in time is the actual skill.
Apples scroll in alongside the obstacles, collect them to grow your trailing body (rendered with the same smooth arc-length trail technique used for this cluster's continuous-movement games) and add to your score, which also climbs steadily with distance. Speed picks up gradually the further you run, and 3 hearts with a brief invincibility flash after each hit keep the pace forgiving rather than punishing.
Works with keyboard (Up/Down or W/S), the on-screen lane buttons, or swipe gestures on touch devices, no download or account needed. For the traditional free-roam version of snake, try Classic Snake Arena, or browse the rest of the lineup on the Snake Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
How is Snake Runner different from a normal snake game?
Instead of a top-down grid you control directly, the world scrolls past a fixed head position like an endless runner, and you switch between 5 lanes to dodge obstacles and collect food.
How do I control it?
Up/Down arrow keys, W/S, the on-screen lane buttons, or swipe up/down on a touchscreen.
How many lives do I get?
3. Hitting a blocked lane costs one, with a brief invincibility flash afterward, and running out ends the run.
Is Snake Runner free with no account needed?
Yes. It's free with no download and no account, and your best score saves only in your own browser.
