🚀 Space Snake

Rotate and drift through a screen-wrapping asteroid field, collect gems to grow.

The one control scheme in this cluster that isn't a grid or a lane

Space Snake swaps every other snake game's grid or lane movement for real rotate-and-thrust controls, the same feel as classic asteroid-dodging arcade games: your ship drifts forward on its own, all you do is rotate left or right, and momentum carries you the rest of the way. The screen wraps at every edge, fly off the right side and you reappear on the left, with your trailing body passing through the seam without a visible seam or glitch.

Diamonds scattered through the field grow your trailing body when collected, while drifting asteroids and your own body are the two things that end a run. Longer snakes have more of their own body to keep track of while threading between tumbling asteroids, the same rising tension every game in this cluster is built around, just expressed through completely different controls here.

Works with keyboard (Left/Right or A/D) or the on-screen rotate buttons on touch devices, no download or account needed. For the free-roam growing-arena take on snake, try Snake Battle Royale, or browse the rest of the lineup on the Snake Games hub.
