A real words-per-minute test, built for kids
Typing Speed Arena is a straightforward typing speed test for kids: a stream of common words appears, the current word is highlighted, and typing it into the box and pressing space submits it and moves you to the next one. There's no theme or story here on purpose, just a clean way to see a real number for how fast and how accurately a child types right now, and to watch that number improve over time.
Three lengths change how long the test runs. A 30-second sprint is a quick check-in. A 60-second standard test is the most common length for a typing speed test and gives a steady, comparable result. A 120-second marathon rewards staying focused and accurate over a longer stretch. Whichever length is chosen, pressing space always moves on to the next word even if the current one has a mistake in it, exactly like a real typing test, and that word simply won't count toward the correct total.
At the end of each test, words-per-minute and accuracy are shown together, and the best words-per-minute for that time length is saved locally so progress is easy to track across visits. Typing Speed Arena is free, works with any keyboard, needs no download or account, and saves everything locally in your own browser, which also makes it school-safe on a shared classroom Chromebook.
