ðē Stickman Bike Stunts
Pencil-drawn BMX lines, big air and trick combos.
How to play
- Pick a level. Level 1 is open straight away and every finished level opens the next one.
- Hold the up arrow or W (or the green âķ button) to pedal, and the down arrow or S to brake.
- Lean back and forward with the left and right arrows, or A and D. In the air, leaning flips the bike.
- In the air, press Space or X (or the purple â button) to do a trick. Press again to chain another trick.
- Each trick has to finish before you land. Land in the middle of a trick and you bail and lose the points.
- Bigger air means more time for tricks. A flip is worth 1,000 points and chained tricks multiply your score.
- Score high to earn up to three stars. Stars unlock new rider looks.
A BMX trick game drawn in pencil
Stickman Bike Stunts is a free stickman BMX game that you play in your browser. The whole world looks like it was drawn in a school notebook: the ground is a pencil line, the ramps are sketched with a ruler and the rider is a classic stick figure on a little BMX. Then night falls and the world turns into white ink on black paper. It looks simple, but underneath is a proper bike physics engine and a trick system with combos and big scores.
This is a trick game, not a race. You are not trying to get to the finish as fast as possible. You are trying to score as many points as you can on the way, by launching off ramps and pulling tricks in the air. The more air you get, the more tricks you can fit in, and the bigger your score.
Five tricks and flips
Press the trick button in the air and your stickman pulls a trick. There are five of them. The Superman, where the rider flies out behind the bike holding the handlebars, is worth 600 points. The No Hander, both hands in the air, is worth 400. The Can Can, one leg kicked over the frame, is worth 450. The Heel Click, both feet clicked together in front of the bars, is worth 500. The Barspin, where the handlebars whirl right round, is worth 550.
Flips are worth even more. Every full backflip or frontflip in the air scores 1,000 points. Flips use the lean keys rather than the trick button, so you can flip and trick on the same jump if you have enough air. Repeating the same trick in one run is worth a little less each time, so mix them up for the best score.
Combos and bails
Press the trick button again while you are still in the air and you chain a second trick onto the first. Every extra trick in the same jump adds to a combo multiplier, so three tricks in one jump are worth much more than three tricks in three jumps. Your points for the jump are added when you land cleanly.
But there is a catch. Each trick takes a moment to perform, and if you land while your stickman is still in the middle of a trick, you bail. The rider tumbles off and all the points from that jump are lost. The skill is in judging how much air time you have left. On a small kicker, one quick trick is enough. Off a mega ramp, you might fit in three tricks and a flip.
Sixteen trick lines
The first eight levels are drawn in pencil on paper. Doodle Park and Pencil Ramps introduce kickers and spines. Sketchy Gaps has gaps to clear, Scribble Hills adds big rollers and descents, Boost Lines has boost pads that throw you into the air, Mega Doodle introduces the mega ramp, Step It Up is full of step-up jumps and Paper Plaza mixes everything together.
The last eight levels are drawn in white ink at night. Ink Spill, Midnight Kickers, Shadow Gaps and Moon Ramps take you under the stars, Night Drops has big drop-ins, Inky Bridge has wooden bridges, Stick Storm piles on mega ramps and dirt jumps, and Stunt Master is the longest line in the game with four sections of huge jumps.
Tips for big scores
Speed equals air, and air equals points, so pedal hard into every ramp. Start your first trick as soon as you leave the ramp, because the sooner you start, the more time you have to chain another. Watch the ground below you and stop pressing the trick button when you are coming down. Practise flips on the mega ramps, where you have the most air. And remember that a safe landing with one trick scores more than a bail with three.
Stars and rider looks
Stars are earned by score: reach the target for three stars, or a lower target for two. Stars unlock four rider looks: the Classic Stick, Red Scarf, Blue Cap and the Gold Star rider. Your best run on each level is replayed as a ghost, so you can see exactly where you scored your points last time.
Play anywhere
The game runs in any modern browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, with no download and no account. Use the arrow keys or WASD and Space on a keyboard, or the round touch buttons on a touchscreen. Your stars and best scores are saved only in your own browser. There is no violence: bails are a cartoon tumble. See the Parents & Safety page for more.
