⚓ Boat Docking 3D
Park boats in tight marina berths, canal locks and a container port.
How to play
- Pick a level and a paint scheme, then start. Level 1 is ready straight away.
- W or the up arrow goes ahead. S slows down, and keep holding it to go astern (reverse).
- A and D turn the rudder. It only works while the boat is moving through the water.
- Bring the boat into the green box, lined up with the berth, and stop. Hold still to finish.
- The beeps get faster as you get close to something. Three bumps and you try again.
- C changes the camera (chase, high, bridge, top-down). L is the searchlight. R restarts.
A parking game for boats
Boat Docking 3D is a free boat parking game that you play in your browser. Driving a boat out at sea is easy. Bringing it gently into a tight space between other boats, without bumping anything, is the real test of a captain, and that is what this game is all about. Each level gives you a boat, a harbour full of obstacles and a green box where you have to stop.
Boats are tricky to park because they have no brakes and they never stop at once. Let go of the throttle and the boat glides on. Go astern and it slowly stops, then starts to go backwards. The rudder only works while water flows past it, so a boat that has stopped cannot turn. Wind and current push you sideways. Learning to handle all of that is what makes docking so satisfying.
15 levels
First Berth is a simple stop beside a pontoon. Fuel Stop follows a channel of buoys to the fuel pumps. Marina Slip turns off the fairway into an empty slip between two boats. Bow Out makes you reverse into the slip so the bow points out. Crosswind pushes you onto the pontoon, so you must come in slowly and parallel. Parallel Park slides into a gap between two moored boats. Canal Lock stops inside a lock while the far gate opens. Tug Life brings a tug alongside a barge in a current. Night Marina is in the dark, with your searchlight on. Slalom & Slip weaves through buoys first. Choppy Water adds gusts and waves. Ferry Terminal hands you a 26 m ferry. Double Lock has two chambers in a row. Container Quay docks a 60 m container ship. And Harbour Master reverses the ferry into its loading slip, stern to the ramp.
Bumps and fenders
Every boat has fenders, so a gentle touch against a pontoon is fine. A harder bump counts, though, and three bumps end the level. A warning beep speeds up as you get close to anything, just like the parking sensors on a car. Come in slowly and you will rarely hear it.
Stars and paint schemes
Every level has a par time. Dock with no bumps and under par for three stars; with at most one bump and not too far over par for two; any other finish earns one star. Stars unlock new paint for your boats: Classic Red is ready at the start, then Ocean Blue at 6 stars, Sunshine at 15, Mint Racer at 26 and Navy & Gold at 38.
Docking tips
Slow down early, then slower still. Use short bursts of throttle to keep just enough water over the rudder to steer. When reversing into a slip, remember that the steering feels the other way round, and line up before you start backing in. In a crosswind or current, aim a little upwind or upstream of the berth and let the wind carry you in. Switch to the high or top-down camera (C) for the final metres, so you can see exactly where the box is. And with the ferry and the container ship, start stopping a very long way out: a big ship can take hundreds of metres to come to a halt.
Why it is good practice
Docking is a lovely puzzle about speed, distance and timing. Children learn to plan ahead, to make small corrections instead of big ones, and to stay calm when a gust pushes the boat off line. There is no clock pressure for the first star, so younger players can take as long as they need.

Frequently asked questions
Is Boat Docking 3D free?
Yes. It is a free 3D boat parking game that runs in your web browser with no download, account or plugin.
How do I finish a level?
Bring the boat into the green box, lined up with the berth and almost stopped, then hold still for a moment.
Why won't my boat turn?
A rudder only works while water flows past it. Give a little throttle so the boat is moving, then steer.
How do I reverse?
Hold S or the down arrow. The boat slows down first, then starts to go astern. Steering works the other way round when you go backwards.
How many bumps am I allowed?
Gentle touches against the fenders are fine. Three real bumps end the level, and three stars need no bumps at all.
How do I unlock new paint?
Collect stars. Ocean Blue unlocks at 6 stars, Sunshine at 15, Mint Racer at 26 and Navy & Gold at 38.
