Six fishing pictures to colour
Fishing Coloring Pages is a free online colouring game for children. There are six fishing pictures to colour right in your browser, with a big palette of colours and nothing to download or print first. Pick a colour, tap a space, and watch the picture come to life. When it is finished, print it out for the fridge or save it as an image.
Every picture is drawn with clear, bold outlines and big spaces, so even the youngest artists can fill them neatly with a finger on a tablet or a click of the mouse.
The pictures
Dock Day shows a sunny afternoon of fishing from a wooden dock. Lake Boat is a little rowboat out on a calm lake. Ice Fishing is a winter scene, fishing through a hole in the ice. Under the Sea dives beneath the waves to the fish below. The Big Catch is the proud moment of landing a really big fish. And Kitty Night Fishing shows a cat out fishing at night.
How it works
Choose a picture, then choose a colour from the palette of fifteen: red, orange, yellow, light green, dark green, sky blue, blue, navy, purple, pink, brown, sand, grey, white and black. Tap or click any space in the picture and it fills with that colour. There are no numbers to follow and no right or wrong colours: the sea can be pink and the fish can be rainbow if you like. To change a colour, simply pick a new one and tap the space again.
Print or save
When your picture is ready, press the Print button to print it on paper, or Save image to keep it on your computer or tablet. You can print or save at any time, even if you have not finished. Press Start over to clear the whole picture and colour it again in different colours.
Why colouring is good for kids
Colouring is calm and creative. It helps young children practise hand control and precision, learn colour names and make their own choices. Filling the spaces of a picture also teaches patience and focus, and the finished picture is something to be proud of. Fishing pictures add a little story to each page, which is a nice starting point for talking about lakes, the sea, the seasons and the animals that live in the water.
Tips for grown-ups
On a tablet, younger children can colour with a finger. Ask them about their colour choices, and try telling a story about each picture. Printed pages make lovely cards and gifts, and saving the images lets you keep a little gallery of their work.
Colouring ideas
There is no wrong way to colour, but here are a few ideas to try. Colour Dock Day on a bright summer afternoon with a blue sky and yellow sun, then start over and colour it again as a sunset in orange, pink and purple. Make the Ice Fishing scene icy blue and white, with one bright red hat to stand out. Turn Under the Sea into a rainbow reef, with every fish a different colour. Give The Big Catch the biggest, brightest fish you can imagine. And try colouring Kitty Night Fishing in dark blues and navy, with a glowing yellow moon. Older children can challenge themselves to use every one of the fifteen colours in a single picture.
Great for quiet time
Colouring pages are a calm activity for the end of the day, a rainy afternoon or a quiet moment in the classroom. Each picture takes just a few minutes, and there is no timer, no score and nothing to win or lose. Printed pages can also be coloured again by hand with real crayons or pencils.
