🌀 Tie-Dye Studio

Click a square, watch it mirror across all four quadrants. Instant symmetric patterns.

Symmetry built in, not something you have to get right

Tie-Dye Studio takes the fiddly part of making a symmetric pattern by hand and does it automatically. The grid is 10x10 squares. Click any one square and it colors both that square and its mirror image in the other 3 quadrants, flipped left-right, flipped top-bottom, and flipped both ways, an instant 4-way symmetric pattern from a single click. Because the grid is 10 squares wide with no exact center row or column, every click always affects exactly 4 squares, so patterns stay clean and balanced.

There's no target picture, no numbers to match, and no way to color it wrong, just pick a color and click until the design looks the way you like. It's an open-ended creative toy rather than a puzzle with an answer, closely related to Mandala Maker, which uses rotational symmetry around a circle instead of mirror symmetry across a grid.

Once you're happy with your pattern, use the Print button to print it out on paper, or Save Image to download a PNG copy. Your design saves automatically to your own browser as you go. Browse more free-draw and pattern games on the Coloring Games hub.

Frequently asked questions

How does the automatic symmetry work?

The grid is 10x10 squares. Clicking one square colors it and its mirror image in the other 3 quadrants (flipped left-right, flipped top-bottom, and flipped both ways) all at once, so the whole pattern stays perfectly symmetric.

Is there a right or wrong way to make a pattern?

No. There's no target picture and no way to get it wrong, just pick colors and click squares until the pattern looks the way you want.

Can I print or save my pattern?

Yes. Use the Print button to print your design, or the Save Image button to download a PNG copy to your device.

Does my pattern save if I close the page?

Yes. Your design is saved automatically to your own browser as you go, so it's still there if you come back later on the same device.
