👑 Block Blast Master
The harder Block Blast: no singles or dominoes, every piece is a tromino or bigger.
How to play
- Tap or click one of your 3 pieces to select it.
- Tap or click a cell on the grid to drop the piece there. On mouse, hover first to preview the exact footprint (green means it fits, pink means it doesn't).
- Fill an entire row or column and it clears, adding to your score.
- Every piece here is a tromino or bigger, so plan ahead: a bad drop can eat a lot of open space at once.
- Clear lines on back-to-back drops to build a streak. Each step in the streak multiplies your bonus.
- Keyboard: press 1/2/3 to pick a piece, arrow keys to move the cursor, Enter or Space to drop it.
- The round ends once none of your 3 pieces fit anywhere on the board.
A genuinely harder Block Blast, not just a repaint
Block Blast Master runs on the same 10x10 grid as the original Block Blast, with the same fill-a-row-or-column-to-clear-it rule and the same combo streak bonus, but the piece pool is stripped down to trominoes and up. There's no single square to slot into a one-cell gap and no domino to patch a two-wide hole. Every piece you're handed takes up real space, which means the board fills faster and a single careless drop can cost you far more open room than it would in the original.
That change reshapes the whole strategy. In the base game you can often stall for a turn or two with a small piece while you wait for a better shape. Here, every piece forces a real decision, so reading two or three moves ahead (and leaving clean, clearable lanes open rather than filling the board evenly) matters much more. The combo streak system still rewards clearing lines on consecutive drops, but keeping that streak alive against bigger, more awkward pieces is the real test.
There's still no timer and no lives system, just the board. The round ends the moment none of your current 3 pieces can legally be placed anywhere on the grid, at which point your final score is compared against your personal best, saved automatically in your own browser (see the Parents & Safety page). Works with mouse, touch, or keyboard, loads instantly, and is safe for a school Chromebook. Want the original, calmer pace instead? Try Block Blast, or see the full lineup on the Block Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
What makes Block Blast Master harder than Block Blast?
The piece pool never hands you a single square or a two-cell domino. Every piece is at least a tromino (3 connected cells), so the board fills up much faster and you have to plan line clears further ahead than the original.
Is Block Blast Master free to play, unblocked?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser tab with no download, no install, and no account, so it works on a school or work computer just like any other web page.
Does Block Blast Master have the same combo streak as Block Blast?
Yes, the combo streak system carries over unchanged: clearing lines on back-to-back drops multiplies your bonus. It's just harder to keep a streak alive when every piece is bigger.
What happens when none of my pieces fit?
The round ends as soon as none of your current 3 pieces can be placed anywhere on the board. Your best score is saved automatically in your own browser, and New Board starts a fresh grid instantly.
