A hexagon block puzzle with a real 3-way line clear
Hex Block Puzzle takes the familiar block-fit formula (place a small piece, fill a complete line, watch it clear) and moves it onto a hexagon-shaped board built from hex cells instead of squares. That one change matters more than it sounds: a square board only ever has 2 line directions to clear, rows and columns, but a hex board has 3, running in three different diagonal-ish directions across the grid. Every piece you place is quietly contributing to up to 3 different potential lines at once, which makes reading the board and planning your next 2 or 3 moves a genuinely different puzzle than the square version.
Three small hex pieces sit in your tray at a time, and you place them one by one until all three are used, at which point a fresh set appears. Clearing more than one line with a single piece pays a much bigger bonus than clearing them separately, and clearing lines on consecutive placements builds a streak that multiplies every bonus that follows, the same combo idea used across AnonArcade's other block puzzles, just applied to hex geometry here.
No timer, no lives system, just the board. The round ends only when none of your current 3 pieces can be legally placed anywhere on the hexagon, and your best score is saved automatically in your own browser (see the Parents & Safety page). Works with mouse, touch, or keyboard, loads instantly with no login, and is safe for a school Chromebook. See the rest of the lineup, including the square-grid Block Blast, on the Block Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
How is Hex Block Puzzle different from a square block puzzle?
The board is a hexagon made of hex-shaped cells instead of a square grid, and a hex board has 3 possible line directions instead of 2 (rows and columns). A full line can clear along any of those 3 axes, which changes how you plan a placement compared to a square board.
How do I clear a line?
Fill every hex cell along one full straight line in any of the board's 3 directions and that entire line clears at once, adding to your score. Clearing more than one line with a single piece, or clearing lines on back-to-back placements, pays a bigger combo bonus.
How do I play with a keyboard?
Press 1, 2, or 3 to select a piece, use the arrow keys to move the highlighted cell around the hexagon board, and press Enter or Space to drop the piece there.
Is Hex Block Puzzle free with no download?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser tab with no download, no install, and no account. Your best score saves automatically in your own browser.
