🟥 Color Block Jam
Slide each colored block to its matching gate to clear the board.
How to play
- Click or tap a block to select it (its outline turns white).
- Use the 4 arrow buttons below the board, or the arrow keys, to slide the selected block.
- A colored line on the board's edge marks that color's gate and which way it faces.
- A block only clears the board if it's lined up with its own gate and slides in the matching direction. Otherwise it just stops.
- Clear every block to solve the level. 5 levels, each unlocking the next.
A colored sliding puzzle where every block needs its own door
Color Block Jam takes the sliding-block puzzle idea and adds color matching: every block on the board has a matching gate somewhere on the edge, marked by a colored line, and a block only leaves the board if it's lined up with that exact gate and moving in the direction it faces. Slide a block toward the wrong edge, or the right edge but the wrong row or column, and it just stops there instead of clearing.
That single rule is what makes this different from a plain sliding-block puzzle: blocks here can move in any of the 4 directions, not just one fixed axis, so a big part of solving a level is repositioning a block sideways or vertically first just to line it up with its own gate, before actually sending it out. The later levels lean into this directly, with blocks whose gate is on a completely different edge from where they start.
No timer, no score pressure, just moves and a running count of how many blocks you've cleared. Works with mouse, touch, or keyboard (the on-screen arrow pad and the arrow keys both drive the same selected block), loads instantly with no login, and is safe for a school Chromebook. See the rest of the lineup, including the axis-locked Unblock Me, on the Block Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
How do I clear a block in Color Block Jam?
Select a block, then slide it toward its matching-color gate, marked by a colored line on one edge of the board. A block only clears if it's aligned with its gate's row or column and moving in the gate's direction, otherwise it just stops when it hits something.
Can a block move in more than one direction?
Yes. Unlike a strictly axis-locked sliding puzzle, any block here can slide in any of the 4 directions. You'll often need to reposition a block sideways first to line it up with its own gate before it can exit.
How do I move a block?
Click or tap a block to select it, then use the 4 arrow buttons below the board or the arrow keys to slide it. It slides as far as it can in that direction, stopping at another block, a wall, or exiting if it reaches its matching gate.
Does my level progress save?
Yes. Your furthest unlocked level is saved automatically in your own browser.
