A slower, gentler wood block puzzle for the whole journey
Wood Block Journey trims the classic block-fit formula down to an 8x8 board, a smaller and more forgiving space than the usual 9x9 or 10x10 grid. Three pieces appear at a time, and your job is the same as ever: fit them onto the board and clear a full row or column when you can. What's different here is the piece pool itself, weighted toward small and medium shapes so the board fills up slowly and a single awkward drop rarely costs you the whole round.
There's no combo streak to chase and no bonus multiplier riding on back-to-back clears. Every clear is worth the same whether it's your first move or your fiftieth, which means there's no pressure to clear the instant a line is full, you can hold a shape for a few extra moves if it sets up a cleaner board later. It's the same core puzzle, played at its own pace.
The round ends the moment none of your current 3 pieces can legally be placed anywhere on the grid, at which point your final score is compared against your personal best, saved automatically in your own browser (see the Parents & Safety page). Works with mouse, touch, or keyboard, loads instantly, and is safe for a school Chromebook. Want the 9x9 sub-box version instead? Try Woodoku, or see the full lineup on the Block Games hub.
Frequently asked questions
How is Wood Block Journey different from Woodoku?
Woodoku's 9x9 board is split into nine 3x3 boxes that clear alongside rows and columns, and it keeps the combo streak system on. Wood Block Journey drops the 3x3 boxes entirely, runs on a smaller 8x8 board, has no streak pressure, and uses a gentler piece pool, a calmer pace overall.
Is Wood Block Journey free to play?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser tab with no download, no install, and no account, so it works on a school or work computer just like any other web page.
Is there a timer or streak pressure?
No. There's no timer and no combo multiplier to chase. Clear a row or column whenever you're ready, at your own pace.
What happens when none of my pieces fit?
The round ends as soon as none of your current 3 pieces can be placed anywhere on the board. Your best score is saved automatically in your own browser, and New Board starts a fresh grid instantly.
