  • Tap or click a cell on the grid to drop the piece there. On mouse, hover first to preview the exact footprint.
  • Fill an entire row, column, or one of the nine 3x3 boxes (marked by the grid lines) and it clears.
  • Clear lines or boxes on back-to-back drops to build a streak that multiplies your bonus.

  • The round ends once none of your 3 pieces fit anywhere on the board.

A wood block puzzle with a third way to clear the board

Woodoku takes the familiar block-fit formula and adds a Sudoku-style twist: the 9x9 grid is divided into nine 3x3 boxes, and filling any one of them completely clears it, in addition to the usual full row and column clears. That gives you a genuine third dimension to plan around. A placement that looks wasteful for row-clearing purposes might be exactly what a nearby box needs to complete, so reading the board means watching three overlapping clear conditions at once instead of two.

Three pieces sit in your tray at a time, drawn from a classic set of small block shapes (nothing bigger than a standard tetromino), and you place them one by one until all three are used, at which point a fresh set appears. Clearing more than one row, column, or box with a single piece pays a bigger bonus, and clearing on back-to-back drops builds a streak that multiplies every bonus that follows, the same combo system used across AnonArcade's other block puzzles.

No timer, no lives system, just the board. The round ends only when none of your current 3 pieces can be legally placed anywhere on the grid, and your best score is saved automatically in your own browser (see the Parents & Safety page). Works with mouse, touch, or keyboard, loads instantly with no login, and is safe for a school Chromebook. See the square-grid Block Blast and the rest of the lineup on the Block Games hub.

Frequently asked questions

How is Woodoku different from Block Blast?

Woodoku uses a 9x9 grid split into nine 3x3 boxes, like a Sudoku grid. Filling a complete 3x3 box clears it, on top of the usual full row and column clears, which gives you a third way to clear space that a plain 10x10 block puzzle doesn't have.

Do I need to know Sudoku to play?

No. There are no numbers and no Sudoku logic involved. The 3x3 boxes are just an extra clearable region, the actual gameplay is the same place-a-piece, clear-a-line block-fit format as any block puzzle.

How do I play with a keyboard?

Press 1, 2, or 3 to select a piece, use the arrow keys to move the placement cursor, and press Enter or Space to drop it.

Is Woodoku free with no download?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser tab with no download, no install, and no account. Your best score saves automatically in your own browser.
