🅿️ Parking Jam Escape

Tap the cars out in the right order. Don't bump!

🅿️ Levels: 0/40 ⭐ Stars: 0 🚗 Cars freed: 0

How to play

  • Pick a level. Each one is a car park packed with cars, trucks and buses.
  • Every vehicle can only drive straight: forwards or backwards along the way it is facing.
  • Tap the front half of a car to drive it forwards, or the back half to reverse. You can also swipe the car in the direction you want.
  • If nothing is in the way, the car drives out, round the ring road and away through the exit gate.
  • If a car or a planter is in the way, you bump it and your car rolls back. Look before you tap!
  • Clear every car to finish the level. No bumps and no hints gives three stars; two bumps or fewer gives two.
  • Stuck? Press Hint and a car that can leave right now will bounce. Restart any time.

Can you clear the car park?

Parking Jam Escape is a free 3D puzzle game about the most annoying car park in the world. Every bay is full, the cars are parked nose to tail in every direction, and nobody can get out. Your job is to work out the right order to move them so every single car can drive away, without scraping anyone's paintwork.

The rule is simple: a car can only drive straight forwards or straight backwards. Tap the front of a car and it drives forwards; tap the back and it reverses. If the way is clear all the way to the edge of the car park, off it goes, round the ring road and out through the barrier. If something is in the way, it bumps into it with a crunch and rolls back to its bay.

Think before you tap

The trick is to look at the whole car park before you move anything. Which cars already have a clear run, forwards or backwards? Move those first, and see which new paths open up. A car that is boxed in at the front might be able to reverse out once the car behind it has gone. In the bigger car parks some cars can only leave after five or six others have gone first, so it really pays to plan ahead.

Every level is built by the game and checked to make sure it can be solved, so there is always a way out. If you get stuck, the Hint button makes a car that can leave right now bounce up and down, but a hint means no third star.

40 levels that get harder

The first levels are small 5 by 5 car parks with only a few cars, perfect for learning how it works. As you go on, the car parks grow to 9 by 9 bays and fill up more and more. Long trucks and buses that take up three bays appear from level 8, and from level 15 there are planters in the car park that never move, so cars have to find a way round them. The scenery changes as you go, from a sunny supermarket car park to an evening rooftop and finally a car park at night.

Each level gives up to three stars. Clear it with no bumps and no hints for three stars, with two bumps or fewer for two stars, or with more bumps for one. New levels open as you clear the ones before them, and you can always replay a level to improve your stars.

Why puzzles like this are good for your brain

Parking puzzles are great practice for planning, logical thinking and spatial reasoning: picturing how things move and working out what depends on what. You have to hold several steps in your head at once, and the satisfaction of watching a jammed car park empty out car by car is hard to beat.

Parking Jam Escape is free, needs no download or account, and keeps your stars only in your own browser. It works with a mouse on computers and Chromebooks and with touch on tablets and phones.
