🪝 Tiny Hook Fishing

A tiny hook and a very big ocean

Tiny Hook Fishing is a free fishing game that you play in your browser. A little fisherman sits in a little boat with a little hook, and below him is 600 metres of ocean full of fish, from sardines in the sunlit shallows to giant squid in the deep. At first your line only reaches 25 metres. Catch fish, sell them, buy a longer line, and every cast takes you a little deeper, until one day you reach the bottom of the trench where the Rainbow Leviathan lives.

It is a simple game to learn and a hard one to put down. Each cast takes less than a minute, every catch earns money, and there is always a new upgrade, a new zone or a new fish just out of reach.

Cast, sink, catch

Press CAST and a power meter swings back and forth. Stop it in the green zone for a perfect cast, which makes the whole catch worth one and a half times as much. Then the hook drops. On the way down, the fish dart away from it, so you just steer the hook clear of the jellyfish. When it reaches your maximum depth, the reel starts winding up, and now every fish the hook touches gets caught, up to the number your hook can hold. Steer from side to side to grab the most valuable fish you can see.

Flying fish and double cash

When the hook breaks the surface, your whole catch is flung up into the sky. Tap a fish while it is in the air and it is worth double. The rest are sold when they splash back into the boat. A good cast with a full hook and quick fingers can earn many times more than a sloppy one.

Upgrades

Max Depth makes your line longer, so you can reach deeper zones with rarer, more valuable fish. Max Fish makes your hook hold more fish on the way up. Offline Cash keeps your boat earning while you are away, so when you come back, there is money waiting. Upgrades get more expensive each time, so think about which one will pay back fastest.

Six zones

Sunny Shallows, down to 60 metres, has sardines, clownfish, tangs, pufferfish, seahorses and turtles. The Coral Reef has parrotfish, angelfish, lionfish, groupers, moray eels and octopuses. The Kelp Forest has manta rays, tuna, barracuda and swordfish. In the Twilight Zone the fish start to glow: lanternfish, hatchetfish and viperfish. The Midnight Deep has anglerfish, gulper eels, vampire squid and a sperm whale. And The Trench, all the way down to 600 metres, has snailfish, giant isopods, the coelacanth, the giant squid and the legendary Rainbow Leviathan.

The Fish Book

Every species you catch goes into the Fish Book. There are 38 to find. Each one also has a rare golden version, marked with a sparkle, that is worth much more. Catch every species in a zone to earn a big bonus. Watch out for the junk too: an old boot is worth almost nothing.

Treasure chests

Treasure chests lie in the deeper half of the ocean. Steer the hook into one on the way up for a burst of bonus cash.

Tips

Always try for the perfect cast: that green zone is worth 50% more on every fish. Buy Max Depth first, because deeper fish are worth far more than shallow ones. On the way up, steer towards the biggest, rarest fish you can see, not just the nearest. And when the catch flies into the air, tap the fish that are worth the most first.
