From tiny to giant

Feed and Grow Fish 3D is a free fish growing game that you play in your browser. You start as a little fish, no bigger than a finger, on a bright coral reef. Everything around you is bigger and hungrier than you are. Nibble the tiny fish, keep out of sight of the hunters, and grow. Each time your growth bar fills, you get bigger, and the fish that chased you a minute ago start to look like lunch. Grow all the way to Giant and you rule the sea, until you meet the Megalodon.

The whole ocean is built in 3D. Sunbeams ripple across the sand of the reef, coral and anemones cover the rocks, kelp sways in the current, a sunken ship lies in the open ocean and, far below, a deep trench glows with strange lights.

Biting and swallowing

Swim into a fish that is smaller than you to bite it. Very small fish are swallowed whole in one gulp. Fish closer to your own size take a few bites, and they fight back, so keep biting until they are gone. Coloured tags float over the fish near you: green means you can swallow it whole, yellow means a few bites will do it, and red means it is bigger than you and dangerous. Press E to dash and catch a fast fish before it escapes.

Five sizes

Your fish grows through five stages: Tiny, Small, Medium, Large and Giant. Each stage makes you much bigger and stronger, opens up bigger prey, and earns a DNA bonus. A Tiny clownfish has to hide in the reef; a Giant can go anywhere it likes.

Four zones

The Coral Reef is shallow and colourful, full of small fish: the best place to start. The Kelp Forest has tall, swaying kelp to hide in. The Open Ocean is big and blue, with tuna, sharks, a sunken ship and gentle whale sharks. The Abyss is a deep, dark trench, 150 metres down, where anglerfish dangle their glowing lures, squid lurk and plankton glows in the dark.

Six fish to play

Every fish you eat gives you DNA, and DNA unlocks new fish to play as: the Clownfish to start, the Piranha at 150 DNA, the Barracuda at 400, the Grouper at 800, the Great White shark at 1,400 and the Orca at 2,200. Each one has its own speed, size and bite, and the big hunters start much higher up the food chain.

Three modes

Free Ocean lets you eat, grow and explore at your own pace. Grow Rush is a race: how fast can you get from Tiny to Giant? Megalodon Hunt asks you to grow to Giant and then take on the Megalodon, a prehistoric giant shark that waits in the Abyss. The Ocean Guide keeps a record of every creature you have eaten, so you can try to fill it.

Tips

In the early stages, stay close to the reef and eat the tiny fish. Check the tags before you bite: a yellow fish fights back, so make sure you can finish it. Use the dash to catch fish and to escape. Do not go into the Open Ocean or the Abyss until you are big enough. And against the Megalodon, bite and swim away, then come back for another bite.

Kid-friendly

Fish bites make a cloud of bubbles, never blood. If you are eaten, you just start again with all your DNA kept. See the Parents & Safety page for more.
