🔮 Marble Run Builder
Snap it together, let it roll.
How to play
- Pick a level. Each one has a start (🚩) and a cup (🏁) already on the board.
- Choose a track piece at the bottom, then click a square to place it. Press R (or ⟳) to turn it first, or tap a placed piece to turn it.
- Use ▲ and ▼ (or Q and E) to build higher or lower. A slope drops one level; a spiral drops two.
- Press ▶ Roll (or Space) to release the marbles. Watch where they go wrong, fix the track and roll again.
- Jumps launch marbles into the air; a funnel catches them. Boosters speed marbles up and splitters send them left and right in turn.
- ⭐ a marble reaches the cup · ⭐⭐ every marble in and every bell rung · ⭐⭐⭐ at or under the par number of pieces.
Build it, then let it roll
Marble Run Builder is a free 3D marble run game for kids and grown-ups. On a table in a sunny playroom sits a wooden pegboard, eight squares by eight, with a start tower at one end and a cup at the other. Your job is to build the track in between. Pick a piece, click a square, and it snaps into place. When you think the run is ready, press Roll and watch three shiny marbles race down your creation.
The marbles behave like real ones. They speed up on the way down, slow down on the flat, swing round the curves and spin down the spirals. If a track ends in mid-air, the marble flies off and falls, and it might just land on a piece of track lower down. It's hugely satisfying when a run you designed works perfectly, and just as much fun working out why a marble went sailing off onto the table.
Eight track pieces
Straights and curves carry the marble along and round corners. Slopes drop it one level, and spirals drop two levels in a single square with a lovely corkscrew roll. Jumps flick the marble up into the air, and a funnel catches it again on the other side. Boosters give a marble a burst of speed so it can make it along a long flat run, and splitters send marbles left, then right, then left again, so one run can feed two cups.
Every piece can be turned to face any direction before or after you place it, and you can build up to seven levels high, with support posts appearing automatically underneath. Made a mistake? Undo it, or pick the sponge and remove the piece.
Eight puzzle levels
The levels teach one idea at a time. First run is a simple slope down to the cup. Round the corner needs curves. Ring the bell puts a bell in the middle of the board that the marble has to pass through. Jump the river stops you building across the middle, so you need a jump and a funnel. Spiral tower starts very high with little room, perfect for spirals. Two bells and Split decision add more targets and a second cup, and the Grand run winds all the way from one corner of the board to the other past three bells.
Each level gives up to three stars: one for getting a marble into the cup, two for getting every marble in and ringing every bell, and three for doing it with no more pieces than the par. Finishing a level unlocks the next one.
Free Build
In Free Build there are no rules. Along with all the track pieces you get extra starts, cups, bells and blocks, and five marbles per start. Build a giant zig-zag tower, a double spiral, a jump over a wall of blocks, or a run with three starts feeding one cup, and roll it as many times as you like.
Learning through play
Marble runs are a classic STEM toy for good reason. Building one teaches cause and effect, planning and problem solving, and gives a feel for real physics: height turns into speed, friction slows things down, and a marble needs enough speed to clear a jump. Children test an idea, watch what happens and improve it, which is exactly how engineers work.
Marble Run Builder is free, runs in any modern browser on computers, tablets and phones, and needs no download or sign-up. There are no ads inside the game and no chat, and your stars are saved only in your own browser. Parents can read more on the Parents & Safety page. Frequently asked questions
Is Marble Run Builder free?
Yes. It is free to play in the browser with no download, no account and no in-game purchases.
How do I turn a piece?
Press R or the ⟳ button to turn the piece before you place it, or tap a piece already on the board to turn it a quarter turn.
How do I build higher?
Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons (or the Q and E keys) to change the building level. The blue grid shows which level you are building on.
Why does my marble fly off?
Marbles leave the track wherever it ends or doesn't line up with the next piece. Check that each piece's end meets the next piece's start at the same height, and turn pieces so they line up.
How do jumps work?
A jump launches the marble into the air. The faster it goes, the further it flies, so put slopes before the jump and a funnel where it lands.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Tap a piece, then tap a square to place it. Drag to turn the camera and pinch to zoom.
