An addition and subtraction racing game for younger kids
Speed Sums is the sister game to Grand Prix Math, same racing engine, addition and subtraction facts instead of times tables. Your car drives itself around the track, and every checkpoint stops it for one question. Answer correctly and your car gets a real speed boost, answer wrong and it slows down briefly, then the race keeps going, so there's genuine racing tension without a game-over screen. Six difficulty tiers move from addition within 10, up through addition and subtraction within 20, a mixed tier to 50, and a championship tier of two-digit addition and subtraction up to 99, roughly grades 1 through 3.
Speed Sums shares its car-unlock progress with Grand Prix Math: correct answers in either game earn mastery points that unlock the same new car colors in both, so practicing addition and multiplication both feed into the same collection instead of two separate scoreboards.
It's free, works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard, needs no download or account, and saves your best race time locally in your own browser. See the Parents & Safety page for the full privacy details, or browse the rest of the Math Games hub.
