🏂 Halfpipe Hero 3D

Pump, pop, spin, stomp. Ride a 3D superpipe on a board or skis.

Wall to wall in a superpipe

Halfpipe Hero 3D is a free halfpipe game where you drop into a giant U-shaped wall of snow and fly out of the top on every hit. Ride a snowboard or skis from one wall to the other, pump to build speed, pop off the lip, and throw a spin, a flip or a grab before you drop back in. A good run is a rhythm: up, trick, down, across, up again, higher every time.

Most halfpipe games online are simple button mashers. This one has real pipe physics: your height comes from your speed, and your speed comes from how well you pump. That makes every big air feel earned.

Pump and pop

Gravity pulls you down into the flat bottom of the pipe and you shoot up the opposite wall. To go higher, pump: hold W while you are dropping down a wall, like pushing down on a swing. Pump on every wall and your air grows hit after hit. Then pop: tap Space just before you reach the lip for an extra burst of height. A rider who pumps and pops perfectly flies much higher than one who just rides.

Tricks

When you leave the lip, you fly straight up and come straight back down into the same wall. While you are up there, A and D spin, W throws a front flip, S a back flip, and holding Shift or E grabs your board or skis. Bigger air means time for bigger tricks: a 540, a 720, or a flip with a grab. You must land facing a clean direction; any 180 works in a pipe. If you let go of the spin keys, your rider settles into the nearest clean landing by itself.

Three ways to ride

The Halfpipe Tour is a series of four contests against rival riders: the Rookie Mini Pipe, the Pro Superpipe, the Snowstorm Open and the World Final. Score big, land clean and climb the rankings. High Air is all about height, on the mini pipe and on the superpipe: pump and pop to fly as high as you can. Trick Jam gives you timed sessions, the Sunny Jam and the Night Jam under lights, with point goals to beat.

Board or skis

Halfpipe Hero lets you ride both ways. Some riders are snowboarders and some are skiers, like Flash, Frost, Ruby, Lime and Phantom, and each feels a little different in the air. Two are ready from the start; stars unlock the rest.

Tips

Pump on every wall, not just some: speed builds over several hits. Pop late, right at the lip. Start with grabs and 360s while you learn the timing. Do not spin when you are coming down too low; a small, clean trick beats a crash. In contests, plan your run: start safe, then save your biggest trick for when your air is highest.

About the halfpipe

The halfpipe has been an Olympic snowboard event since 1998 and a freestyle skiing event since 2014. A superpipe is about 7 metres high, and the best riders fly more than 6 metres above the lip. Judges look at height, difficulty, variety and clean landings, and so does this game.

Play anywhere

Halfpipe Hero 3D runs in any modern browser on computers, Chromebooks and tablets, with no download and no account. On touch screens, buttons replace the keys. Your stars and riders are saved only in your own browser, and there is nothing to buy. See the Parents & Safety page for more.

Frequently asked questions

Is Halfpipe Hero 3D free?

Yes. It is a free 3D halfpipe game in your browser with no download, account or purchases.

How do I get higher in the pipe?

Pump by holding W while you drop down each wall, and tap Space just before the lip to pop. Your height builds over several walls.

Can I ride skis instead of a snowboard?

Yes. Some of the riders are skiers and some are snowboarders. Two are ready at the start and stars unlock the others.

How do I land clean?

Finish your spin facing a clean direction (any 180). If you stop pressing the spin keys before you land, your rider settles into a clean landing.

What is High Air?

A mode where only height counts. Pump and pop to fly as high above the lip as you can, on the mini pipe and on the superpipe.

What tricks can I do?

Spins (A and D), front flips (W), back flips (S) and grabs (Shift or E), and any mix of them if your air is big enough.
