Rails on top, big kickers below. Freestyle skiing's slopestyle in 3D.
How to play
- Ride the course top to bottom: rails and boxes first, then a line of big kickers.
- Press Space to ollie onto a rail or box and slide along it.
- Off the kickers, A and D spin, W and S flip, Shift grabs.
- Land clean to bank the trick. Land crooked and you crash.
- Judges love big, different tricks and do not like repeats.
- Win the Slopestyle Tour or beat the goals in Rail Jam.
What is slopestyle?
Slopestyle is the freestyle skiing event where a whole run is one big trick show. The course starts with a section of rails, boxes and other jibs, then drops into a line of huge kickers. Skiers choose their own line, link tricks from top to bottom, and are judged on everything they do. Freestyle Ski Slopestyle 3D is a free game that puts you on twin-tip skis on exactly that kind of course, in full 3D.
If you have searched for freestyle skiing, its disciplines or how slopestyle is judged, this game is a fun way to understand it from the inside.
Rails first
The top of every course is the jib section. Press Space to ollie onto a rail or a box and slide along it for points. Some features are wide and easy, others thin and angled. You do not have to hit every one, but each clean grind adds to your run score and to the judges' impression.
Then the jumps
Below the rails, the big kickers line up one after another. In the air, A and D spin you, W and S flip you forwards and backwards, and Shift grabs a ski. A 360 with a grab is a good start; bigger kickers give time for a flip with a 720 or more. On skis you can land forwards or switch (backwards), so finish your rotation on a clean half or full turn.
The judges
Slopestyle judges reward four things, and so do the judges in this game: difficulty (bigger spins and flips), amplitude (big air), variety (different tricks and directions) and execution (clean landings). Doing the same trick on every jump scores less each time, and a crash costs a lot. The best runs mix rails and jumps and use a different trick on each kicker.
Slopestyle Tour
The Slopestyle Tour has four contests. In each one you get two judged runs against nine other skiers, and your best run counts, just like in a real contest. Use the first run to land something solid, then push harder on the second. Climb to the top of the results for stars.
Rail Jam
Rail Jam is a 60-second session on a course full of rails and boxes. Grind as many features as you can, keep sliding clean, and beat three point goals for up to three stars.
Twin-tips and outfits
Freestyle skis turn up at both ends, the tips and tails, so skiers can ride and land backwards. That is why switch landings are allowed. Stars unlock new outfits: Teal Twin, Arctic, Sunburst and Midnight.
Tips
Plan your line at the top: which rails, which side of each kicker. Learn a few different tricks so you can vary them. Spin on the smaller kickers and save flips for the big ones. On rails, come in straight. And remember that a smaller trick you land beats a huge one you crash.
About freestyle skiing
Freestyle skiing is a group of disciplines: moguls, aerials, ski cross, halfpipe, slopestyle and big air. Slopestyle joined the Olympics in 2014. Many of the tricks come from skateboarding and snowboarding, and the best skiers now spin four full rotations off a single jump.

What is slopestyle skiing?
A freestyle event where skiers ride a course of rails and big jumps, linking tricks from top to bottom, and are scored by judges.
How is a run judged?
On difficulty, amplitude, variety and execution. Big, different tricks with clean landings score best; repeats and crashes lose points.
How many runs do I get in a contest?
Two judged runs. Your best run counts, like in a real slopestyle contest.
What is Rail Jam?
