🎿 Ski Jump Challenge
Tap, balance, telemark. A one-button ski jump from Kids Hill to the K200 Flying Hill.
How to play
- Use one button: any key, the mouse or your finger.
- Your jumper slides down the in-run. Tap right at the end of the ramp to jump (watch the timing bar).
- In the air, hold to lean forward and let go to lean back. Keep the balance needle in the green.
- Lean too far back and you stall; too far forward and you nose-dive.
- Tap just before you land for a telemark and better style marks.
- Beat the other jumpers over two rounds to win medals.
Fly like a ski jumper
Ski Jump Challenge is a free ski jumping game that you play with a single button. You sit at the top of a towering in-run, push off, and race down the track towards the edge of the take-off table. Tap at exactly the right moment and you spring into the air, flying out over the landing hill in a long, beautiful arc. Balance your body in the wind, and just before the snow comes up to meet you, tap again to land in a perfect telemark. Then the distance flashes up and the judges show their marks.
One button sounds simple, and it is, but ski jumping is a sport of tiny timings. A take-off a tenth of a second early or late costs metres. A wobble in the air costs more. That is what makes landing a huge jump so satisfying.
Take-off, flight and landing
Take-off: a timing bar shows when you reach the edge of the table. Tap right at the end: early and you jump too soon, late and you drop off the edge without spring. Flight: in the air your body wants to tip backwards. Hold the button to lean forward, let go to lean back, and keep the balance needle in the green window. Too far back and you stall and drop; too far forward and you nose-dive. Gusts of wind push you around, so you keep adjusting all the way down. Landing: tap just before you touch the snow for a telemark landing, one ski forward and knees bent, like the pros. The judges love it.
Real ski jump scoring
Every hill has a K-point, the distance a good jump should reach. Land on the K-point and you get 60 points (120 on the Flying Hill). Every metre further adds points and every metre shorter takes them away. Then three judges give style marks for your flight and landing, and the total decides the ranking, just like in a real competition.
Four hills
The Kids Hill (K40) is small and friendly, perfect for learning. The Normal Hill (K90) and Large Hill (K120) are the Olympic hills. The Flying Hill (K200) is a monster: in-run speeds above 100 km/h and flights of more than 200 metres, where staying balanced is everything.
The World Cup
The World Cup has six events, each with two rounds against nine rival jumpers from around the world: the Village Kids Cup, the Pine Valley Cup, the Night Lights Cup under the floodlights, the Alpen Grand Prix, the Blizzard Classic in a snowstorm, and finally the Ice Giant Ski Flying on the K200. Finish on the podium for a medal; medals earn stars, and stars unlock new jump suits: Blue Thunder, Neon Gold and Aurora. Training mode lets you jump any hill as often as you like.
Tips
Watch the timing bar, not the jumper, for the take-off. In the air, make small corrections: short taps work better than long holds. On windy events, expect to work harder. Do not forget the telemark: a good landing can win you a medal on a jump that was a few metres short. And if you keep stalling, you are leaning back too much: hold a little longer.
About ski jumping
Ski jumping comes from Norway and has been in every Winter Olympics since 1924. Real jumpers hold their skis in a V shape to fly further, and the longest jumps on giant flying hills are now more than 250 metres. It is one of the most spectacular sports in the world, and with one button, anyone can have a go.
Play anywhere
Ski Jump Challenge runs in any modern browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, with no download and no account. Medals and suits are saved only in your own browser, and there is nothing to buy. See the Parents & Safety page for more.

Frequently asked questions
Is Ski Jump Challenge free?
Yes. It is a free one-button ski jump game in your browser with no download, account or purchases.
How do I jump further?
Tap right at the end of the take-off table, then keep the balance needle in the green while you fly. A balanced flight goes much further than a wobbly one.
What is a telemark?
The classic ski jump landing with one ski in front of the other and knees bent. Tap just before you touch the snow to land one and earn better style marks.
What does K40, K90, K120 and K200 mean?
The K-point, the distance in metres a good jump should reach on that hill. Landing there gives 60 points (120 on the Flying Hill), and each metre more or less adds or removes points.
How are jumps scored?
Distance points plus style marks from three judges, who reward a steady flight and a clean telemark landing.
Can I play with one finger on a phone?
Yes. Tap and hold anywhere on the game. It uses one button for everything.
