A free timed letter grid word game, no fixed word list
Letter Grid Blitz drops you in front of a randomized 4x4 grid of letters and gives you 90 seconds. Click any letter to start a word, then click another letter touching it, including diagonally, to keep building. Every letter in the grid can only be used once per word, so a word with a repeated letter needs two separate tiles with that letter touching the rest of the path. Press Submit to lock it in, or Undo to remove just the last letter if you change your mind.
What makes this genuinely different from every other game in the Word Games hub is that there's no fixed list of words to find. The grid is randomized fresh every round, and you're free to find any real word from the game's word list that happens to be hiding in that particular grid, the same way a real Boggle-style game works. Words don't need to run in a straight line either, unlike this site's Word Search: they can twist and turn in any direction as long as each next letter is touching the one before it.
3 and 4-letter words are worth 1 point, 5-letter words are worth 2, and 6-letter words are worth 3, so longer finds matter more. When the timer hits zero, your round ends and your final score and found words are shown. Your best single-round score is saved locally in your own browser so you can try to beat it on the next grid. It's free, works with a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard, and needs no download or account.
