🔥 Drift Legends 3D

Real tyre physics. Chain the drifts, dodge the walls.

🏆 Best: 0 ⭐ Stars: 0 🔥 Longest drift: 0

How to play

  • Choose a car and a track, adjust the tuning if you like, then press Start Drifting. The two-minute clock starts when you move.
  • Drive with W or the up arrow, brake and reverse with S or the down arrow, and steer with A and D or the left and right arrows. Space is the handbrake.
  • To start a drift, turn into a corner and tap the handbrake, or press the gas hard at low speed so the rear wheels spin and the tail swings out.
  • Hold the drift by steering the other way (countersteer) and balancing the gas. The countersteer assist helps with this; you can switch it off in the tuning panel.
  • Points build up while the car is sideways. The bigger the angle and the faster you go, the more you score. Keep drifting to raise the multiplier up to x5.
  • When you straighten up, the points are banked. Hit a wall during a drift and they are lost.
  • Press C for the camera, R to put the car back on the track and P to pause. On phones, use the on-screen steering, pedal and HB (handbrake) buttons.

A drifting game with proper tyre physics

Drift Legends 3D is a free drifting game where the cars really slide. Each car is rear-wheel drive and the physics work out the grip of the front and rear tyres every moment: how much weight is on each end of the car, how hard the engine is pushing the rear wheels and how far the tyres are slipping sideways. Push too hard and the back end steps out. Catch it with the steering, feed in the throttle, and you can hold the car at a crazy angle all the way through a corner in a cloud of tyre smoke.

It takes a little practice, and that is the fun of it. Tap the handbrake on the way into a bend and the tail swings round. Too much, and you spin. Too little, and the car just grips and turns. Once it clicks, linking one corner to the next with the car sideways the whole way feels amazing.

Four tracks with walls

Harbor Docks winds between stacks of shipping containers and giant cranes, with a tight hairpin in the middle. Mountain Touge is fast and flowing, with long sweeping bends through the pine forest at dawn. Night Factory is tight and technical, lit by lamp posts between the warehouses. Winter Lot is a short track on snow and ice where grip is low, so the cars slide much more easily but are much harder to control.

Every track is lined with tyre barriers. Touch one mid-drift and you lose all the points of that drift, so the challenge is to get as close to the edge as you dare without hitting it. A minimap in the corner shows the whole track and where you are.

Scoring, combos and stars

Points build up while the car is sliding at more than about 12 degrees. A bigger angle and more speed score faster. Keep one drift going, or link drifts together without straightening up, and the multiplier climbs every couple of seconds up to x5. The points are added to your score once the car has been straight for a moment. Each session lasts two minutes, and each track has three score goals.

Stars unlock more cars: the Street Coupe you start with, a Tuned Sedan, a big Muscle V8 and the Legend GT, each with more power. More power means bigger, smokier drifts, but it also means the car is quicker to spin.

Tune your car

The tuning panel lets you change three settings: engine power, steering lock and rear grip. Less rear grip makes the car easier to kick sideways, more steering lock lets you hold bigger angles, and more power keeps the rear wheels spinning. The countersteer assist gently points the front wheels in the direction the car is travelling, which makes slides easier to hold. Switch it off for full manual control.

Why drifting games are so popular

Drifting is about style as much as speed. It is not about the fastest lap but about control, rhythm and the perfect line, and every run is a little different. It is great practice for smooth, precise control and quick reactions.

Drift Legends 3D is free, needs no download or account, and keeps your scores, stars and tuning only in your own browser. It works with a keyboard on computers and Chromebooks and with on-screen buttons on tablets. See the Parents & Safety page for details. Frequently asked questions

Is Drift Legends 3D free?

Yes. It is a free 3D drifting game that runs in a web browser with no download, account or plugin.

How do I start a drift?

Turn into a corner and tap the handbrake (Space), or press the gas hard at low speed so the rear wheels spin. Then steer the other way and balance the gas to hold the slide.

How are drift points scored?

Points build up while the car is sliding at more than about 12 degrees, faster with a bigger angle and more speed. Chaining drifts raises a multiplier up to x5. Hitting a wall loses the drift's points.

What does the tuning do?

Engine power, steering lock and rear grip change how easily the car slides and how big an angle you can hold. The countersteer assist helps you catch slides and can be switched off.

How do I unlock new cars?

Reach the score goals on each track to earn stars. The Tuned Sedan unlocks at 3 stars, the Muscle V8 at 6 and the Legend GT at 9.

Does it work on phones and Chromebooks?

Yes. It runs in any modern browser with 3D graphics (WebGL). On touchscreens, steering, pedal and handbrake buttons appear on the screen.
