⚗️ Potion Pour

Pour potions between vials until every vial holds just one color.

A real ball sort puzzle, verified before you ever see it

Potion Pour is AnonArcade's version of the classic ball sort (or color sort) tube puzzle, themed as vials of colored potion instead of stacked balls. Pick a source vial and a destination vial and the top run of matching-color potions pours across in one move, the same core mechanic as the mobile puzzle genre it's built on, just with a fresh coat of paint. It's a genuinely different game from Sort It Sideways, which is already live here: that one tilts the entire board at once and every tube cascades together, while Potion Pour is the classic direct version where you choose exactly one source and one destination each move.

Every puzzle starts from a fully solved board and gets scrambled using real legal pours, run in reverse of how you'd solve it. That alone doesn't guarantee a puzzle is fair, so before it's ever shown to you, an actual solving search runs against the scrambled board to confirm a real path back to solved exists. If a scramble can't be verified in time, it's thrown out and a new one is generated, the same generate-then-verify rigor used for AnonArcade's other logic puzzles. You'll never be handed a board that's secretly impossible.

The Hint button uses that exact same solver, but run live against your current board rather than a fixed answer key, so it stays accurate even after you've poured things differently than the puzzle's original path. 3 difficulties change the number of colors involved, from 4 up to 8, and your fewest-moves best is tracked separately for each one. A colorblind-friendly Numbers toggle labels every potion by color index if you'd rather sort by number than by hue. Undo and New Puzzle are both free and unlimited, so there's no fail state, ever.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play Potion Pour?

Tap a vial to select it, then tap another vial to pour the top same-color potions across. A pour only works if the destination vial is empty or its top color matches, and there's room. Sort every color into its own vial to win.

Is this the same as a ball sort puzzle?

Yes, Potion Pour is AnonArcade's take on the classic ball sort / color sort tube puzzle, themed as vials of colored potion instead of balls.

Is every puzzle guaranteed solvable?

Yes. Every puzzle is generated by scrambling a solved board using real legal moves, then checked with an actual solving search before it's ever shown. If a scramble can't be verified solvable, it's discarded and a new one is generated instead.

What does the Hint button do?

It runs the same real solver against your current board, right now, and tells you exactly which vial to pour into which, rather than reading from a fixed answer key.

How is this different from Sort It Sideways?

Sort It Sideways tilts the whole board left or right and every tube cascades at once. Potion Pour is the classic direct version: you choose exactly one source vial and one destination vial per move.
